Ramone Jones, a capital writer, ran The Pike Weekly as its editor. His spirit lies in a concealed cellar beneath a home in Revelwood’s Shanty Shacks; reaching it requires entering the Shroud and swimming through the flooded basement. Collecting the soul completes the villager quest “Ramone’s Writing”.
Quick answer: Go to the Shanty Shacks in the Revelwood, drop into the house the marker points to, swim down through the flooded basement into the cellar room with the bookshelves, and collect Ramone Jones’ soul by the desk.
How “Ramone’s Writing” starts
The quest begins from a piece of Ramone’s writing you pick up at the Sacrificial Vukah Pit. You reach that pit during Marianne Reed’s quest “Vukah Rituals Uncovered“, so you need to be working through her questline before Ramone’s trail opens up.
Once you have the writing, the quest runs in two stages. The first asks you to track down where Ramone went:
“You’ve discovered writing from a man named Ramone Jones. He was a writer from the capital and editor of The Pike Weekly. Investigate his current whereabouts and try to find him!”
The second stage points you to the house and the cellar beneath it:
“You’ve discovered Ramone’s supposed place of hiding. In a note, he talks about living in his friend’s hidden cellar. Search the basement below the house to find Ramone!”
Reaching the Shanty Shacks cellar
The house sits inside the Shroud, so watch your Shroud timer the whole way down and back.
Collecting the soul and summoning Ramone
Collect the soul at the desk. A “Soul Discovered! Ramone Jones” message appears, and “Quest Completed: Ramone’s Writing” confirms the quest is done.
Back at your base, open the Summoning Staff menu, find Ramone Jones and place him.
