Final Fantasy XIV: All Saints’ Wake 2026 Walkthrough (We Scare Bears)

Both seasonal quests, all five Curious Costume locations, the Grisly Bear rewards, and the peddler's furnishing prices before November 2.

Both seasonal quests, all five Curious Costume locations, the Grisly Bear rewards, and the peddler’s furnishing prices before November 2.

Final Fantasy XIV’s All Saints’ Wake event is live, and this year it’s a game of hide-and-seek with three ghosts wearing patchwork bear costumes. The event is subtitled “A Grisly Affair of Mortals and Bears.” It’s a short two-quest chain that ends in a new Halloween-themed area called the Dire Deepcroft, and the main reward is a full bear outfit for your glamour collection.

Quick answer: At level 15, go to Old Gridania (X:10.2, Y:9.4) and speak with its Pumpkin-headed Apparition. Complete We Scare Bears, followed by Grim and Grisly Games, before November 2, 2026.

All Saints’ Wake 2026 dates and requirements

The event began on October 15, 2026, and concludes at 6:59 a.m. PST on Monday, November 2, 2026 (14:59 GMT). Square Enix says the schedule is subject to change. Any seasonal quest still unfinished when the event ends will be lost, as it can no longer be completed.

  • A character at level 15 or higher
  • Access to Gridania, since both quests start in Old Gridania
  • Quest-starting NPC: the Pumpkin-headed Apparition, located at Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre (X:10.2, Y:9.4)
  • Both quests are level 15 and can be done in one sitting

We Scare Bears walkthrough

The first quest sets up the game. You meet Pattin, Bea, and Dodd, three apparitions who wear bear suits so they don’t frighten anyone. You then gather enough players for a round of hide-and-seek.

Go to Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre in Old Gridania and speak to the Pumpkin-headed Apparition. Accept the quest We Scare Bears.
After a short conversation, run northeast through Old Gridania and talk to the Apparition again. That’s where you meet the three bears and watch a cutscene that explains their plan.
Follow the map markers to two adventurers with quest icons over their heads. Talk to each one to recruit them for the game.
Return to Pattin to complete We Scare Bears. Talk to Pattin once more to pick up the second quest, Grim and Grisly Games.

Grim and Grisly Games walkthrough in the Dire Deepcroft

The second quest moves you to the Dire Deepcroft, a non-instanced, spooky take on Deepcroft. Your tool is the All-Seeing Gourd, which you use on hiding costumed NPCs to reveal who is inside. Look for the patchwork pattern. It marks the right bear every time except at the very end.

Speak with the grave guide to travel to the Dire Deepcroft.
Talk to Bea when you arrive. The two adventurers you recruited are here too, also in bear suits, and the game starts after the cutscene.
After regaining control, turn left at the first chance and continue along the route to the orange circle’s far edge on your minimap. Use the All-Seeing Gourd on Pattin, the patchwork bear concealed there. Finding Pattin opens the game’s final section.
Use the Gourd on all five correct Curious Costumes. Their locations are in the table below, in the order you’ll reach them.
Go back to the starting point, watch the cutscene, and speak with Dodd. Be ready for a small jump scare.
In the last cutscene, “Pattin” says you were never found. Pick either answer. Both lead to the same ending.

All five Curious Costume locations

#Where to goWhat to target
1Orange circle near PattinCostume on the altar to your right
2Doorway to the rightCostume inside the room
3Next nearby orange circleCostume in the small open area
4Large southwest orange circleDancing green bear
5Final orange circleBear on the east side

Three spots have decoys. At costume three, walk past the first Curious Costume you see and keep going into the open area behind it. At costume four, ignore the pair of green legs poking out of the ground and head to the southwest edge of the circle for the dancing green bear. At costume five, two bears stand side by side, and the one on the east side is correct.

All Saints’ Wake 2026 rewards and how to confirm completion

You’ll know the event is done when Grim and Grisly Games clears from your quest log and the Dire, Dire Deepcroft achievement (10 points) unlocks. That achievement only triggers on finishing the second quest. Two glamour pieces come with it:

  • Grisly Bear Head (head slot)
  • Grisly Bear Suit (body slot)

Finishing the event also unlocks the Bespectacled Peddler, who sells this year’s furnishings plus a few items from earlier events for gil.

NPC transformations in the All Saints’ Wake areas

After the quests, you can go back into the earlier All Saints’ Wake areas and talk to the Unsavory Imp. The Imp turns you into a well-known NPC from any of Final Fantasy XIV’s expansions. It’s purely for fun and screenshots.

You can’t leave those areas while transformed, so remove the transformation before you try to exit.

The whole chain takes about as long as a single dungeon run. The bear outfit is the only reward tied to the quests, so the one thing to watch is the deadline. If Grim and Grisly Games is still in your log at 6:59 a.m. PST on November 2, the head, suit, and achievement are gone with it.
