Nyra and the Garden of Moros Gameplay Trailer: Climbing Corrupted Keepers

Resting Relic's PC adventure has you scale twelve giant Keepers with a wolf companion and decide whether each one lives.

Resting Relic’s PC adventure has you scale twelve giant Keepers with a wolf companion and decide whether each one lives.

Nyra and the Garden of Moros is about climbing things that are much, much bigger than you. Its new gameplay trailer, which debuted at The MIX Fall Game Showcase 2026, spends most of its runtime on that idea. A white-haired swordswoman and her enormous white wolf cross ruins, flower fields, and foggy forests, then scramble up moss-covered giants to break the glowing seals on their bodies.

Quick answer: It’s a solo-developed open-world action-adventure coming to PC via Steam. You climb twelve corrupted Keepers and choose to slay or cleanse each one. No release date has been announced.

The story: a curse, an escaped god, and twelve seals

Nyra is looking for a cure to a curse that is spreading across the land. Her wolf companion, Rama, travels with her. The search takes her into the ruins of the Old Empire, where she finds the prison of Moros, an ancient god of doom, already broken open.

To keep Moros from coming back, Nyra has to recover twelve magical seals. Each one is guarded by a Keeper, a giant creature that was supposed to protect it. The problem is that the same corruption Nyra is trying to cure has taken hold of the Keepers too. The guardians are now part of the threat.

How Keeper fights work: climb, break, then decide

Every Keeper is a climbable structure as much as it is an enemy. In the trailer, Nyra grabs onto vertical stone and moss and pulls herself up architectural ledges that seem to grow out of the creature’s body. There’s no HUD at any point, so the footage reads more like a playable cutscene than a combat demo.

Once she’s on top, the goal is to find and destroy the glowing points that hold the corruption. Two kinds show up in the footage.

  • Circular metal discs bolted onto the creature, which Nyra strikes directly
  • Glowing crests and crystal clusters, including one on a Keeper’s head and several on another’s back

The first encounter ends with the stone-headed beast collapsing across a forest floor and an old colonnade. The second plays out on a Keeper perched on top of a round building. Nyra rides past, jumps onto its body, and slashes at the crystals growing out of it.

That second fight doesn’t end with a body on the ground. Green light and chunks of stone burst out of the Keeper as it roars from its perch. It looks less like a kill and more like the corruption being forced out.

That matters, because killing isn’t the only option. Each encounter gives you a choice. You can destroy the Keeper and take its seal, or you can try to cleanse it. Cleansing asks for a greater sacrifice, and the choices you make carry consequences across the world. Resting Relic hasn’t detailed what that sacrifice costs in practice.

The structure invites comparison to Shadow of the Colossus. You have a lone hero, a loyal mount, and giants that are puzzles to be scaled. The save-or-slay decision is where Nyra moves away from that template.

Rama and open-world travel

Rama is Nyra’s mount as well as her companion. She can travel on foot, though most of the trailer’s journeys take place on the wolf’s back. In one scene, the pair cross a rocky canyon with a tall red cylindrical tower ahead. In another, they make their way through a shadowy forest filled with floating points of light.

Forests, desolate plains, and ancient ruins make up the world, where you must search for the Keepers. Near the trailer’s midpoint, a quick montage shifts among fields of red flowers, cliffside trails at sunset, and colossal stone monuments.

The relationship between the two is a big part of the game, not just the mount system. One quiet shot shows Nyra resting against a sleeping Rama beneath a stone monument. Shots like that make clear the wolf is meant to be a character, not a vehicle.

Exploration and puzzles shown in the trailer

Between the giants, the trailer shows short glimpses of quieter exploration. None of these get explained, but they point to a game with things to do beyond fighting.

  • A huge circular sealed door in an underground chamber, lit by orange and white orbs
  • Small glowing blue spirits, shaped like cats or foxes, sitting on boulders beside an obelisk
  • A glowing green button on a balcony pedestal that Nyra activates
  • A dark stone corridor where Nyra follows a green wisp of light

The final shot goes back to scale. A creature large enough to reach into the clouds lowers its head toward Nyra, with a pyramid behind it, just before the title appears.

Resting Relic and the people behind Nyra and Rama

Resting Relic is Joe Winter, working solo. Both lead characters come from his own life. Rama is based on Strider, his late husky. Nyra was inspired by his wife, specifically her strength and compassion.

The project started as a personal tribute and grew into a full game built around companionship and choice. That explains why a trailer that is mostly about climbing giant monsters still stops to let a woman nap against her dog. For now, the Steam wishlist is the only way to follow it. No launch window has been given, so the next real news is likely to be a date.
