The Cluemaster puzzle nicknamed “I’ve Started So I’ll Finish” is the very first contraption the Dynamic Duo runs into during Robin’s introductory chapter in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. It looks almost identical to a Riddler box, but the 1, 2, 3 markings give the Cluemaster away. The pillar holds three symbol slots, each driven by a different mechanism, and all three must match the cues in the room before the cage pops open.

When you reach this puzzle
The puzzle appears during The Dynamic Duo, the Robin-focused mission that follows a short stretch of AR challenges. You don’t need any additional characters or gadgets beyond Robin’s standard kit, which makes it a clean introduction to how Cluemaster boxes work compared to Riddler ones.

Symbol cues at a glance
| Slot | Symbol | How to set it |
|---|---|---|
| Wall slider (left) | Pi | Use Robin’s tool to move the symbol until it matches the wall cue |
| Pillar cog | Leaves | Knock down the hanging part, pick up the handle, and turn the cog |
| Dumpster slider | Globe | Hook the dumpster to the ceiling point, then slide its symbol |
How to know it worked
Once the third symbol clicks into place, the cage on the puzzle opens on its own, and the clue item becomes interactable. Picking it up triggers the reward drop and progresses the Cluemaster storyline, unlocking the first Cluemaster Challenge Room and putting the rest of the Cluemaster Puzzle Boxes on the map across Gotham’s districts.

If a symbol won’t change
Each of the three slots is driven by a different mechanism, so the gadget you use matters. The wall slider and the dumpster slider both respond to Robin’s tool, while the middle slot only turns once the handle is seated in the cog. If a symbol refuses to budge, you’re almost certainly using the wrong interaction, or you haven’t dropped the hanging piece yet to get the handle.
