Wellspring Town in Qingzhou has three Injustice Quests. They are A Day’s Tutor, Courtesy: Kite on a Branch, and Courtesy: Shuttlecock Trouble. Each one is a short errand that ends with a reward. Two of them end with a Gift Refuser mini-game, where you have to politely turn down a thank-you present. You can track all three under the Qingzhou Exploration menu in the Sentient Beings tab.

Quick answer: Start A Day’s Tutor and Kite on a Branch at any time. Shuttlecock Trouble only appears after you complete the Voyage Across the Waves encounter in Qingzhou.

Neither A Day’s Tutor nor Kite on a Branch has a time-of-day or weather condition, so both should be waiting the first time you arrive in town. Devoted Mentor is a Discipline commendation, and Perfect Manners sits under Sincerity. You claim both from The Inkbound Order: Board of Luminaries.

How the Gift Refuser mini-game works

Both Courtesy quests end the same way. The NPC offers you a reward, and you pick Decline. That choice starts Gift Refuser, a timing duel whose on-screen goal is “Refuse all gifts from the giver!” The NPC keeps pushing the gift at you. You answer each push by hitting the directional prompt as it appears, which blocks or deflects the offer.

Every successful deflection fills a Courtesy meter. You win once the meter is full. The duel works the same against Qin Shushu and Li Wa, so once you clear it once, you know how to clear the other.

A Day’s Tutor walkthrough

Look for a crowd gathered around the notice board close to the Wellspring Town waypoint. A steward there needs someone to teach his household’s young master.

Talk to Steward Qian at the notice board. This accepts the tutoring job for young master Qian Wenmo.

Go into the study and interact with Qian Wenmo. The lesson runs through nine questions and corrections built around classical lines, such as “A friend comes from far away…”, “When three people walk together.”, and “What does ‘a monkey in a crown’ mean?”

Open The Inkbound Order: Board of Luminaries and claim the Devoted Mentor commendation. That grants +100 Research.

You’ll know it worked when the Education for All achievement pops after you accept the silver, and Devoted Mentor becomes claimable on the board.

This one is on the town pathway. A schoolteacher and two students are standing under a large tree with a kite stuck in it.

Talk to schoolteacher Qin Shushu, who is with her students Li Yuan’er and Liu Zhengzheng.
Climb the large tree next to them and pick up the Paper Kite from its branches.
Come back down and hand the Paper Kite to Qin Shushu.

When she offers you a reward, choose “Decline” and win the Gift Refuser mini-game.
Finish the conversation with Qin Shushu after the duel.

A success notice for Courtesy: Kite on a Branch appears on screen, along with a new compendium entry.

Shuttlecock Trouble won’t show up in Wellspring Town until you’ve completed the Voyage Across the Waves encounter in Qingzhou. If the canal area is empty, finish that encounter first. You can check its review page for the note confirming the Injustice unlocks afterward.

At the stone tables by the canal bridge, speak with Li Wa and Li Wo, the young girl.
Sneak into the yard of the nearby building and interact with the broken window to “Repair” it.
Jump onto the roof right above the window and pick up the Shuttlecock.
Bring the Shuttlecock back to Li Wa. When she offers a gift, choose “Decline”.
Win the Gift Refuser mini-game by deflecting every gift bag Li Wa tries to give you.
Finish talking to Li Wa, then claim Perfect Manners under Sincerity on The Inkbound Order: Board of Luminaries.

Finish the quest to unlock the Come Rain or Shine achievement. Perfect Manners grants +100 Research when claimed; collecting this commendation completes all three Wellspring Town Injustice Quests.
