Flower Breathing is one of the movesets coming to Slayers 2 with Update 1, and its official showcase is now public. The kit has five active techniques: Crimson Hanagoromo, Peonies of Futility, Vermillion Eye, Whirling Peach, and Honorable Shadow. Honorable Shadow also has a separate counter form. The style is built around three things: an invulnerable panic button, a debuff that shuts off an opponent’s offense, and two different ways to deal with someone who just holds block.

Quick answer: Flower Breathing has five techniques plus a counter. Crimson Hanagoromo gives i-frames, Vermillion Eye applies Fear, Slow, and Suppressed, and Whirling Peach breaks guard.

Each technique has a clear job. Here is how the kit breaks down before getting into the details.

Vermillion EyeControlFear, Slow, Suppressed
Whirling PeachPressureDelayed barrage, guard break

In the showcase loadout, the skills sit on the hotbar in this order: Honorable Shadow on 1, Crimson Hanagoromo on 2, Peonies of Futility on 3, Whirling Peach on 4, and Vermillion Eye on 5. A sixth slot holds Black Ropes, which is not one of the Flower Breathing techniques.

Crimson Hanagoromo and the Honorable Shadow counter

Flower Breathing’s defensive options come from two moves that work very differently.

Crimson Hanagoromo

Crimson Hanagoromo is a hold skill. The user vanishes and a storm of slashes erupts around them. While hidden, the user is fully invulnerable, so nothing can hit them for the duration. They can still drift a little while cutting, which means the move works as both an escape and a way to catch nearby players who are trying to close in. The showcase also tests it into follow-up combos on a training dummy.

Honorable Shadow [Counter Variant]

Honorable Shadow also works as a counter. If an opponent hits the user while the counter is active, the user calmly walks past them as slashes streak across the screen. A final flick of the sword then sets off a burst of slashes and flower petals around the opponent and knocks them down. It plays as a full cinematic, so landing it gives you a guaranteed punish rather than just a trade.

Vermillion Eye debuffs: Fear, Slow, and Suppressed

Vermillion Eye has no slash at all. The user lowers their blade and opens their crimson eyes, which releases a wave of pressure on everyone nearby. Enemies in range get three debuffs at once:

  • Fear: puts the target into the near-death state, the same visual state you see at low HP.
  • Slow: reduces movement speed by 30%.
  • Suppressed: stops the target from punching or using skills, but they can still block.

Put together, these debuffs leave an opponent slower and unable to fight back with anything except block. That makes Vermillion Eye a natural setup for the kit’s guard-break tools.

Peonies of Futility, Whirling Peach, and base Honorable Shadow

The remaining three moves handle offense. Each one deals with blocking differently.

Peonies of Futility

Peonies of Futility opens with a dash that cuts a crescent into the ground. On hitting an enemy, the user vaults into the air and drops down with one strike, which blossoms into a flower on impact. The airborne follow-up can still be blocked, giving a quick-reacting defender a chance to stop the second part.

Whirling Peach

Whirling Peach is a chain of sweeping slashes. After each slash, you can steer the next one with your camera, so the user can follow a target that tries to move away. After the chain, a flick of the blade hits every enemy that was cut with a delayed barrage of strikes and then knocks them away. It also guard breaks, which makes it the kit’s most reliable answer to a player who holds block.

Honorable Shadow

In its standard form, Honorable Shadow is a flowing slash that stuns the enemy. A shockwave then passes through them and knocks them away. It is the simplest move in the kit, but the stun gives you a dependable opener.

Flower Breathing in the PvP showcase

The second half of the showcase is a full duel in a sand arena, with both players using Flower Breathing. The on-screen HUD shows a combo hit counter on the left and red damage numbers above anyone who takes a hit. The featured character is level 225 with 1000 health, and has Flower, Sword, and Sun Mastery all at 100/100. That means the footage shows the style at full mastery, not at early levels.

Since both players use the same style, the duel also shows how the kit handles its own tools. For example, it shows what happens when one player’s guard break meets the other’s counter.

Flower Breathing and the Slayers 2 Update 1 schedule

Flower Breathing’s showcase is the second in the series of moveset reveals leading up to Update 1. Beast Breathing came first. The developer has said it plans a new showcase roughly every four days until the final one. After that, it will post a trailer covering most of the update’s non-moveset content and announce when that trailer will release. No official release date for Update 1 is confirmed yet.

Slayer characters in Slayers 2 already choose from eight Breathing Styles. Flower Breathing adds an option that leans on control and counters rather than raw burst damage. You can block Peonies of Futility’s aerial follow-up, but you cannot block your way out of Whirling Peach, and a Suppressed opponent can do nothing except block.
