Anime Origins Update 3.5, “The Liberation of Toy Kingdom!”, went live on October 18, 2026. It changes the trait meta in a way that matters for anyone sitting on a stack of rerolls. Overseer, long the default backup pick behind Immortal, got slower. Rupture and Decay both got flat damage and much larger bonuses to their specialties. A new trait tier list now assigns every major unit to one of six traits: Immortal, Overseer, Rupture, Decay, Hawkeye, and Stride.
Quick answer: Immortal is still the top roll for your main carry. Overseer lost its 5% SPA bonus, and Rupture and Decay each gained +10% damage plus higher crit and DoT bonuses.
Update 3.5 trait balance changes
Three traits changed in Update 3.5. Every other trait kept its old stats.
| Trait | Stat | Before | After |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overseer (Nerfed) | SPA | -5% | 0% |
| Rupture (Buffed) | Damage | +0% | +10% |
| Rupture (Buffed) | Crit Damage | +35% | +60% |
| Decay (Buffed) | Damage | +0% | +10% |
| Decay (Buffed) | SPA | -10% | 0% |
| Decay (Buffed) | DoT Damage | +40% | +60% |
Overseer now has no attack speed bonus at all. It keeps its damage, range, and bonus True Damage, so it stays strong, but the gap between it and the damage-focused traits is smaller than before.
Decay gives up its SPA reduction in exchange for raw damage and a bigger DoT multiplier. It also gets a formula change that matters more than the numbers suggest. Extra DoT Damage from Decay is now additive instead of multiplicative. In most cases that means more total damage, especially on units whose kits already lean on bleed, burn, or poison.

Tier list trait stats after Update 3.5
Here is how the six traits used in the new unit tier list stack up once the patch is applied.
| Trait | Damage | Cooldown / SPA | Other bonuses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Immortal | +200% | -15% | +20% range, +25% income |
| Overseer | +20% | 0% | +10% range, 30% bonus True Damage |
| Rupture | +10% | None | +30% crit chance, +60% crit damage |
| Decay | +10% | 0% | +60% DoT damage, +10% range |
| Hawkeye | None | None | +30% range |
| Stride | -10% | -10% | +5% range, Tempo stacks |
Immortal has rules the others do not. Only one unit per team can carry it, and that unit has a placement limit of 1. Once per match after Wave 10, it restores base power, instantly kills nearby non-boss enemies, and knocks back and slows the rest. That one-per-team cap is why so many top carries also appear on the Overseer list.
Stride is the odd one out. It starts with a damage penalty, but every attack builds Tempo for -2% cooldown per stack, up to -20%. At max stacks the unit gains another +10% range. The stacks reset after 5 seconds without attacking.
Best traits for every unit in Update 3.5
The Update 3.5 trait tier list is shared on the game’s Discord. It sorts units by the trait that fits their kit best. Some units appear in more than one row, which usually means Immortal is the ideal roll and the second trait is the realistic fallback.
Immortal units
- Gilgamesh
- Madara (Edo Tensei / Six Paths)
- Luffo (4th Gear), also called Bouncyman
- Zoro (King of Hell)
- Saber (Arturia)
- Igris, Yoto, and Yuta
- Reinhard, Akainu, and Alucard
These are the damage carries that gain the most from a +200% damage multiplier and the Wave 10 wipe. Because only one Immortal is allowed per team, the list works better as a priority order than as a set of units you can field together.
Overseer units
Overseer has the broadest roster: Zoro and Reinhard, then Gilgamesh and Kizaru, Smoker and Revy, Sabo and Subaru, Naruto and Emmy, Saber and Sanji, Hisoka (Clown Guy) and Doflamingo, Fujitora and Meliodas, Mikey and Julius, Scathach and Gojo, Jack, and Ban (Purgatory). A lot of these units are supports or hybrids; they benefit from reliable damage and the True Damage bonus more than a dedicated crit or DoT increase. Despite the SPA nerf, Overseer remains a dependable option when a unit’s damage isn’t based on crits or damage over time.
Rupture and Decay units
Rupture now pairs a +10% damage floor with +60% crit damage. That makes it a strong match for crit-heavy kits that used to settle for Overseer. Decay targets units that deal bleed, burn, or poison damage, and the new additive DoT formula makes it hit harder on exactly those units.
Ishtar sits under Decay, but with a catch. Her bleed is not active when she is first placed. It has to be bought with gems during a match, so Decay does nothing extra for her until that upgrade is purchased. Zoro’s spot is also debatable for the same reason. Whether his bleed is strong enough to justify Decay over a direct-damage trait is the main question around his placement.
Hawkeye and Stride units
Hawkeye and Stride are the utility rows. Hawkeye’s flat +30% range suits units whose value comes from covering more of the map, such as crowd-control supports. Stride fits units that attack constantly enough to keep Tempo at max stacks. Aniko is in this group, and her kit and its viability are the main talking point at this end of the list.
Anime Origins Update 3.5 codes for trait rerolls
Update 3.5 added two new codes to the in-game update log. One of them is aimed directly at the trait changes.
| Code | Reward |
|---|---|
Update3.5oof | 60 Trait Rerolls |
BouncyMan | 300 Pirate Tokens |
Sixty free rerolls will not guarantee an Immortal, but they are enough to move a crit or DoT unit off an old Overseer roll and onto the newly buffed Rupture or Decay. The short version of Update 3.5 is simple. Overseer is still good, but it is no longer the automatic answer, and the units whose damage comes from crits or damage over time now have a trait built for them.
