Lunne has a small social circle in The Witch’s Bakery, and every member of it has a heart meter. Some hearts fill as the story moves forward. Others stay empty unless you give that person your evenings. Each main relationship has a Steam achievement for every level, so a 100 percent run means maxing all of them. There is also a hard deadline that the game never warns you about.
Quick answer: Talk to characters whenever a prompt appears, buy from their shops, invite them to activities, give their specific gifts, and finish their Side Journeys before the point of no return after Kei’s Palace.

How to check relationship levels in The Witch’s Bakery
Open Lunne’s Phone (P on PC) and go to the Contacts page. Each person you’ve met shows a row of hearts next to their name and portrait, and the filled hearts are your current level. Maximums vary by character. Some cap at two hearts and others go to three or four. Higher levels unlock more of that character’s story and new ways to spend time with them.
A level-up counts once the new heart shows in Contacts and the matching Steam achievement unlocks. For example, reaching level 1 with Mirembe awards “A Daredevil in Magic Shop,” and level 1 with Mr. Martin awards “Youngsters in the Neighborhood.”

Add to Google Preferences →Every way to raise relationship hearts
Each day has a daytime bakery shift, an evening for exploring Paris, and a night at home. Relationship building happens mostly in the evening, and the evening is short. Every outing uses up time, so plan who gets your attention. These actions raise a friendship:
- Speaking to a character when a dialogue prompt appears for them
- Buying an item or paying for an activity at their shop
- Inviting them out to a concert, the movies, the theater, or a restaurant
- Giving them a gift meant for them, which raises friendship immediately
- Completing their side or story quests, called Side Journeys
- Healing them through their Heart Palace with the right baked good
- Answering their phone texts and accepting invitations
Some events are invitations sent over text, such as Estelle asking you over to test a pastry. You don’t have to accept on the same day, but leaving them for too long risks losing the chance.

Relationship methods for each character
Each person responds best to different actions. The table lists the maximum hearts and the actions that move each meter.
| Character | Max hearts | Where to find them | What raises the relationship |
|---|---|---|---|
| Estelle | 4 (romance) | Office, Grands Boulevards | Talk at her office, accept invites |
| Orio | 4 | Always with Lunne | Bottom-left talk prompts, bakery XP |
| Mirembe | 3 | Ghaldari’s shop | Talk prompts, invite to activities |
| Mawuli | 3 | Rue de Buci | Use their bakery ability, invite out |
| Ghaldari | 2 | Passage Verdeau | Talk, buy books regularly |
| Hassan | 2 | Quai des Bouquinistes | Talk, buy books regularly |
| Judith | 2 | Passage Verdeau | Talk, buy decorations regularly |
| Mr. Martin | 2 | Cinema, Rue Gabrielle | Talk outside, watch movies |
Estelle is the only romance option. Her relationship has four Steam achievements, one for each level: An Honest Partner, A Romantic Play, A Sweet Dinner, and A Moment Beyond Words. Mawuli can help out during bakery shifts by extending customer patience, and using that help counts toward your friendship. Orio’s prompts usually show up after major story milestones, so check the bottom-left corner of the screen once a big scene ends. Kei also has a relationship, which you can raise with gifts. Kei’s progress depends heavily on the story leading up to Kei’s Palace.

Heart locks and the Side Journeys that open them
Sometimes a heart fills and then locks. Further visits do nothing until you complete that character’s Side Journey. Mirembe is the clearest example. Once her first heart fills, it locks. The next morning she texts you to meet at Ghaldari’s shop, and finishing that conversation unlocks the heart so you can keep building.
| Side Journey | Character | How it starts |
|---|---|---|
| An Honest Partner | Estelle | Accept her text to test a pastry |
| A Business Perspective | Estelle | Accept her dinner invitation |
| A Daredevil in Magic Shop | Mirembe | Reach her first heart |
| The Burden of Randomness | Mirembe | Talk when she asks for advice |
| A Teacher And Caretaker | Ghaldari | After Mirembe texts about something big |
| Youngsters in the Neighborhood | Mr. Martin | Talk to him several times |
| One of Us | Hassan | Talk to him several times |
| Dad And Son | Mawuli | Accept the Maria Kart invite |
| The Decorator And The Witch | Judith | After she visits the bakery sad |
For Mr. Martin, watching paid movies at his theater and talking to him when a prompt appears gets you to his first heart. Speak to him again after it fills to finish his Side Journey. As a bonus, you get discounted movie tickets afterward, which makes his later hearts cheaper to earn.

How to buy and give gifts in The Witch’s Bakery
Gifts are the fastest boost, but they follow strict rules. An item’s name won’t tell you it’s a gift, so look for the present icon in shop inventories. Hover over the item to see an icon of its recipient. You can only give a gift to that specific person. Once you have one, a “Give gift” option appears the next time you talk to that character, and the friendship rises right away.
Shop stock changes as the story moves forward. Gifts show up in the order below. The first appears soon after Dans La Toile (Ghaldari’s shop) opens, and the last appears near the end of the game, after Kei’s Palace.
| Gift | Recipient | Where to buy |
|---|---|---|
| Spectral Decoration | Judith | Dans La Toile |
| Ars Nika Powder | Mirembe | Flower Shop (Alluux) |
| Surprise Box | Orio | Dans La Toile |
| Moving Mansion Poster | Mr. Martin | Bouquiniste (Hassan’s Bookshop) |
| Mythic Pot | Ghaldari | Flower Shop (Alluux) |
| Blackbird BR-72 | Mirembe | Dans La Toile |
| Spin Artbook | Hassan | Dans La Toile |
| A Century of Parisian Street Art | Mawuli | Bouquiniste (Hassan’s Bookshop) |
| The Magic of Tidying Up Book | Judith | Bouquiniste (Hassan’s Bookshop) |
| Crescentia Montessori | Mr. Martin | Flower Shop (Alluux) |
| Moko Volume 71 | Orio | Bouquiniste (Hassan’s Bookshop) |
| Aside Picture | Mawuli | Dans La Toile |
| Cabaret Poster | Estelle | Bouquiniste (Hassan’s Bookshop) |
| The Wind Walker | Mawuli | Bouquiniste (Hassan’s Bookshop) |
| Le Viandier de Taillevent | Kei | Bouquiniste (Hassan’s Bookshop) |
| Aside Poppies | Kei | Dans La Toile |
The Flower Shop belongs to Alluux on Rue des Barres. Its stock only becomes available after her Side Journey, An Acquired Taste. For that quest, Hassan finds a recipe that fixes the tomato taste of her Veil potion, and you test it in the Atelier before handing it over.
Give each gift as soon as you buy it. The game never reminds you that you’re holding one, and some characters have no story reason to bring you back to them.

Relationship deadline: The point of no return after Kei’s Palace
Shortly after you finish Kei’s Palace, the city closes off and you can’t explore Paris anymore. The cutoff comes almost immediately after the TV interview airs, and the game gives no warning before it happens. Any heart still unfilled at that point stays unfilled for that save, and so do the achievements tied to it.
Before you trigger the TV interview, open Contacts and look for anyone below their maximum hearts. Spend your last evenings on those characters by finishing their open Side Journeys and handing over any gifts you’re holding. Kei’s two gifts appear late, so buy them from Hassan’s Bookshop and Dans La Toile as soon as they show up. If every heart row in Contacts is full and each level’s achievement has unlocked on Steam, your relationships are maxed.
