Sparkling is Aniimo’s version of a shiny, but it comes in 12 styles. Ten are numbered, Sparkling Type I through Sparkling Type X. The other two, Dazzling Sparkling and Shadow Sparkling, are much rarer. They also don’t share the same routes. The way you make an Aniimo Sparkling decides which of the two rare styles can roll, and one popular method can’t produce Shadow at all.
Quick answer: Shadow Sparkling comes only from a Sparkling Cube used on an Operation Egg Heist egg (1%), or from a Sparkling Sigil or Sparkling Pigment roll (0.50%). Dazzling Sparkling comes from Cube catches, normal-egg hatches, Sigils and Pigments.
Shadow and Dazzling Sparkling odds by method
Pawprint Studio publishes a style table for every route that grants Sparkling. Each numbered type gets the same 9.9% share on every route, so 99% of results are a common style. The remaining 1% is split differently on each route, and the split is what matters for rare-style hunters.
| Method | Each of Types I–X | Dazzling Sparkling | Shadow Sparkling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sparkling Cube on a wild Aniimo | 9.9% | 1% | 0% |
| Sparkling Cube on a normal egg | 9.9% | 1% | 0% |
| Sparkling Cube on an Operation Egg Heist egg | 9.9% | 0% | 1% |
| Sparkling Sigil on an owned Aniimo | 9.9% | 0.50% | 0.50% |
Read every row as the result of a roll that has already succeeded. These numbers decide which style a Sparkling Aniimo ends up with. They are not your chance of running into a Sparkling in the first place.
Operation Egg Heist eggs swap the two rare styles. A Cube on one of those eggs gives up Dazzling completely and gives Shadow the full 1%. A Cube on any other egg, or on a wild catch, does the opposite. The Sigil sits between the two and splits the rare 1% evenly.

Add to Google Preferences →Sparkling Cube catches and egg hatches
The Sparkling Cube is an upgraded Aniipod. It guarantees the catch and grants the Sparkling mutation, so a Cube throw at a wild Aniimo shows Guaranteed Success before it lands. A Cube used on a Level 46 wild Turbo, for example, returns a Sparkling Prismana Turbo every time. The only unknown is the style, and on a wild target that style can be Dazzling but never Shadow.

Cubes also work in the Hatch menu, where eggs such as the Egg Gifted From Flowers can be hatched with one. The egg still decides which Aniimo comes out, and the Cube decides that it hatches Sparkling. An Iris hatched this way came out Perfect, Prismana and Sparkling in a single hatch. Because that egg did not come from Operation Egg Heist, its rare roll could only have landed on Dazzling.

Cubes are expensive to come by. The Item Exchange sells one Sparkling Cube for 1,000 Sparkling Crystal, which is why spending one on the wrong egg type hurts if Shadow is your goal.
Sparkling Sigil and Sparkling Pigment rerolls
The Sparkling Sigil grants the Sparkling mutation to an Aniimo you already own, so you don’t need a fresh catch or a hatch. It is the one route that can roll either rare style, at 0.50% each.

Sparkling Pigment rerolls the Hue of an Aniimo that is already Sparkling. At the Item Exchange, you can trade 5 Sparkling Sigil for one Pigment, meaning each reroll uses five fresh Sigil attempts. The roll cannot give the Aniimo its current style again, and the odds depend on that style.
| Current style | Each other numbered type | Dazzling Sparkling | Shadow Sparkling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Any of Types I–X | 10.99% (current type 0%) | Just over 0.5% | Just over 0.5% |
| Dazzling Sparkling | 9.95% (all ten) | 0% | 0.50% |
| Shadow Sparkling | 9.95% (all ten) | 0.50% | 0% |
Removing the current type from a numbered start slightly raises every other outcome, so both rare styles land a little above half a percent. A rare start works the other way. A Dazzling or Shadow Aniimo that gets rerolled has a 99.5% chance of falling back to a numbered type and can’t keep its current rare style.
Using Pigment on a Dazzling Sparkling Aniimo gives only a 0.50% shot at Shadow, and everything else turns it back into a numbered type.
Switching between unlocked Sparkling Hues
That warning has less sting since a recent update. Pigment rolls now unlock Hues rather than simply overwriting them, and you can switch a Sparkling Prismana Aniimo among the Hues it has already unlocked, including its original one, free of charge. A bad reroll no longer costs you a rare style you previously owned. Each new Pigment roll still follows the odds above, though.
All 12 styles appear under Switch Form in an Aniimo’s Aniilog Field Notes, listed as Common, Sparkling Type I through Type X, Dazzling Sparkling and Shadow Sparkling. Version 1.1 temporarily hid unobtained Sparkling forms in the Aniilog, so you may only see the styles you already own.
Aniimo Sparkling rates and catch chances by species
Without a Cube, Sigil or special egg, a Sparkling is a long shot. The game data gives most species a base Sparkling rate of 0.005%, or 1 in 20,000. Here is how that sits next to base catch chance for the Emberpup line and the Season 1 Keepsakes species.
| Aniimo | Sparkling rate | Base catch chance | Region |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 in 20,000 | 56% | Breezy Plains | |
| 1 in 20,000 | 42% | Breezy Plains | |
| 1 in 20,000 | 28% | Breezy Plains | |
| 1 in 20,000 | 28% | Breezy Plains | |
| 1 in 20,000 | 28% | Breezy Plains | |
| 1 in 20,000 | 16% | Breezy Plains | |
| 1 in 20,000 | 19% | Season 1 Keepsakes | |
| 0 | 25% | Season 1 Keepsakes |
Fulmintis is the usual species for comparing all 12 Sparkling styles side by side. Its research tasks include obtaining a Sparkling Aniimo once, a tier-one task it shares with Scorchhowl, Inferlupa, Stellarys, Luminelle and Irisalis.
Irisalis works differently. Its record lists a Sparkling rate of 0, and its appearance list names a single Sparkling look, Iris Renee. It doesn’t follow the standard numbered-type system.
For anyone chasing a specific rare style, the takeaway is simple. Dazzling Sparkling is open to almost every route. Shadow Sparkling is locked to Operation Egg Heist eggs, Sigils and Pigments, and the Egg Heist Cube hatch is the only one that offers a full 1% chance at it.
