Early in Final Fantasy Resonance, you can find a strange rock in the Kingdom of Grandshelt’s desert, east of Siren’s Tower. It won’t let you through. That rock is the Sealing Stone at the Esper’s Dwelling, and Titan, the Earth Esper, is sealed behind it. You can’t break it until much later, and only one character can do it.

Quick answer: Win Fledgling League battle 5 at the Grandshelt Colosseum to get Lid’s Gaia Hammer. Then have Lid smash the Sealing Stone and defeat Titan to unlock the summon.

Sealing Stone requirements

Titan’s unlock is a side quest, not part of the main story. Before you can open the Esper’s Dwelling, you need two things in place.

  • Lid in your party. He joins in Chapter 2.
  • The Gaia Hammer, Lid’s weapon reward from the Colosseum’s Fledgling League.
  • Enough story progress to reach Fledgling battle 5. That is usually around Chapter 5: Scars of Time, which takes most players about 12 hours.

The Colosseum can open well before Chapter 5. If Fledgling battle 5 is already available to you, you can go after the hammer then. You don’t have to wait for a specific chapter.

How to get the Gaia Hammer and break the Sealing Stone

Talk to the young man in Grandport Harbor. He tells you about the sealing boulder in the desert, and that rumor starts Titan’s side quest.
Fast travel to Grandshelt, the Royal Capital. Enter the main square and follow the route to your left. Two large statues of shield-carrying soldiers flank the Colosseum entrance.
Enter the Fledgling League and fight through it until you win the fifth battle. The Gaia Hammer is the first-time reward for that fight, and it goes straight into your inventory.
Equip the Gaia Hammer on Lid. It has 95 Physical Attack and 93 Magic Power, so it may also be an upgrade over his current weapon.
Find the Sealing Stone in the desert to the east of Siren’s Tower, then have Lid smash it with the hammer. This opens the entrance to the Esper’s Dwelling, where Titan’s fight begins farther inside.

Titan boss fight: stats and weakness

Titan is a big jump from the Siren fight you finish in Chapter 1. He has more than three times her HP and almost three times her stagger gauge.

StatTitan (Normal)
Level30
HP65,000
Stagger gauge1,500
WeaknessWind
ImmuneEarth

Build your party for Wind damage. That means choosing party members and Visions with Wind attacks. Fina can also summon Siren, a Wind Esper, for three turns of extra Wind damage. Each summon costs 50 MP, so keep her MP high going into the fight.

Don’t use Earth attacks at all. Titan is immune to Earth, so every Earth skill you use is a wasted turn.

Titan summon unlock and rewards

Titan appears in Fina’s Summon Esper command once you succeed. As with the other Espers, summoning him costs 50 MP. He stays in battle for three turns, then unleashes Gaia’s Wrath, dealing Earth magic damage to all enemies.

Beating Titan also gives you a piece of Magicite, which you use to upgrade your Visions. Titan counts toward the trophies for getting help from Espers, but you can only have one Esper on the field at a time. Siren and Titan will share Fina’s summon slot, so you choose one per summon based on the enemy’s weakness.
