Enshrouded has 211 food, drinks, and potions. Most of them come down to a simple choice: which number you want bigger for the next half hour. Food gives timed buffs to health, stamina, mana, regeneration, or damage. Potions and flasks cover healing, curing, and survival in the Shroud. Below is every consumable that matters, grouped by what it does for your character, with the exact figures you see in game.
Quick answer: You get three food slots, and each slot needs a different Food Type. Pick one food per type that matches your build, and keep health potions and an Antidote for emergencies.

How Enshrouded food slots and Food Types work
Every food belongs to a Food Type, and that type sets the kind of bonus it gives. A cooked dish made from several ingredients takes the type of its largest bonus. These rules decide what you can eat at the same time:
- You start with 3 food slots, so three food buffs can run at once.
- Only one food of each Food Type can be active. The game won’t let you eat a second fruit while a fruit buff is running.
- The Dessert Stomach skill adds a fourth food slot.
- You can refresh or replace a slot once about 20 percent or less of its duration is left.
- The Puke Potion clears every active food buff at once, which frees all your slots.
| Food Type | Main bonus |
|---|---|
| Meat | Maximum health |
| Fruit | Health regeneration |
| Liquid | Stamina and stamina regen |
| Herb | Maximum mana |
| Sweet | Stamina regeneration |
| Grain Product | Melee damage |
| Vegetable | Ranged and dagger damage |
| Mushroom | Magic damage |
| Fish | Health and maximum oxygen |
| Invigorated | Damage and life leech against the Hollow |
Egg, Night Plant, and Shroud Survival Flask are their own types too. Food Poisoning is a type as well, but it’s a penalty, not a buff. It comes from eating ingredients that have to be cooked first.
The Puke Potion is a cheap reset. One recipe makes five, and you learn it the first time you pick up Stinging Nettle. It does nothing against food poisoning, though.

Raw ingredients that cause Food Poisoning
Some ingredients make you sick if you eat them raw. Food Poisoning lasts 180 seconds and lowers your maximum health and stamina. Cook these first.
| Ingredient | Where it grows | Penalty if eaten raw |
|---|---|---|
| Cinder’s Cradle | -80 health, -70 stamina | |
| Veilwater Basin, underwater | -80 health, -70 stamina | |
| Revelwood, caves | -40 health, -30 stamina |

Each of these turns into something useful once it’s prepared. Algae Buds become Grilled Algae Buds, which give the longest-lasting mana buff among the herbs. Azure Russula becomes Roasted Azure Russula or goes into a skewer. Aurora Beans go into Aurora Bean Rice or the Plantain Salad. If you eat one raw by mistake, the penalty wears off on its own after three minutes.
