Ride a Dino is a Roblox game built on a short, repeatable loop. You jump onto a stampeding dinosaur, hold on long enough to capture it, and bring it home to a pet pen where it earns Cash while you are away. That Cash buys more Stamina, and more Stamina lets you capture rarer dinosaurs. There are nine biomes to work through, and every new species you catch fills another slot in your Index.
Quick answer: You can capture a dinosaur only if your Stamina is higher than the lightning-bolt “Required” number above it. Make sure the pink capture meter fills before the green Stamina meter runs out, then tap your pen to deposit the catch.
Check the creator before you start. Several Roblox games share this name. The one covered here is published by and Catch Them All and uses Place ID 93523763376122. You can open Ride a Dino on Roblox to make sure you have the right game. A different game called Ride a Dino, made by Dino Riders!, is built around hidden eggs and speed mutations, and none of those systems exist in this one.

How a Ride a Dino capture run works
A run always opens in the START ZONE. At the outset, choose a wild dinosaur from the herd to ride, or hop on one you own; any dinosaur in your pen is available. After mounting, the screen displays two meters.
- The green circular meter is your Stamina. It drains the whole time you ride.
- The pink heart meter is capture progress. It fills while you stay on the dinosaur.
- If the heart fills first, the dinosaur is captured and added to your tray for that run.
- If Stamina hits zero first, you get bucked forward, often into a tumble, and the dinosaur escapes.
Jumping keeps a run going. Press Jump to leap from one dinosaur to another. Landing on a new dinosaur refills your Stamina meter completely, which is how you cross the full length of a biome. If you chain jumps well, you can capture several dinosaurs in one run. A good run ends on a “GREAT RUN!” screen that shows your total, such as “You caught 8 dinos!”
A failed ride can show a revive offer. One version reads “REVIVE FREE” with “Uses 1 of 3 free revives,” so free revives are limited and not unlimited.

Add to Google Preferences →Stamina requirement: the rule that decides every capture
Each dinosaur has a floating nameplate. It shows the dinosaur’s size prefix, its rarity color, its species name, and a lightning-bolt number marked as its Required Stamina. That number is the dinosaur’s strength. A dinosaur’s strength depends on its rarity and on the zone where it lives. A stronger dinosaur drains your meter faster.
The check is simple. If your Stamina is above the requirement, you can capture the dinosaur. If it is below, you will be thrown off no matter how carefully you ride. There is no trick that gets around this. Your only option is to raise your Stamina, so read the nameplate before you jump onto a target.
The developer’s own description calls this stat Grip, and says it comes from Dino Machines. In the game, it shows up as the lightning-bolt Stamina value. Both names refer to the same number.

Depositing captured dinos in your pet pen
Captured dinosaurs stay in your tray until the run ends. They do not go into your pen on their own, so you have to finish the deposit yourself.

Cash income by rarity, size, and zone
Each active dinosaur earns Cash every second. The rate goes up with rarity and with the zone the dinosaur comes from. Rarities run Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic, and rare Secret dinosaurs sit above those. Size prefixes such as TINY, BIG, and GIANT, along with variants like GOLDEN, change the rate as well. Early on the gaps are small. In later zones they get very large.
| Dinosaur | Example rate |
|---|---|
| Common Pachycephalosaur | $2/s to $10/s |
| Uncommon Ankylosaurus | $12/s to $24/s |
| Rare Wildebeest | $35/s |
| Rare Triceratops | $60/s |
| GIANT Rare Wildebeest | $105/s |
| Suzhousaurus | $320/s |
| Therizinosaur (late game) | $3.6M/s and up |
The pen keeps earning while you are out on a run. That means time spent capturing dinosaurs and time spent building income work together instead of competing. A practical early plan is to fill your active slots with whatever you can catch. After that, replace those dinosaurs with higher-rarity ones as your Stamina improves.

Raising Stamina in Ride a Dino
There are three ways to raise your Stamina, and they stack with each other.
Dino Machine training
After adding several dinosaurs to your pen, the Dino Machine becomes available for 300 Cash. Look in your base for the spring-like station marked “Upgrade Machine.” Training happens without manual input: use the machine, and your avatar will bounce automatically, adding Stamina on every bounce (an early one displays +1.8). You can let your avatar train there for a few minutes while occupied elsewhere. Compare the lightning-bolt Stamina number before and after to confirm it increased.
Auras
The Aura Shop sells Auras that multiply your Stamina for as long as one is equipped. Once you own an Aura, you can swap between your Auras freely, so you can choose one for its look without losing anything you have bought. The first few tiers are listed below.
| Aura | Tier | Stamina | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver Aura | Level 1 Common | x1.5 | Starting option |
| Lime Aura | Level 2 Common | x1.75 | $5K or 19 Robux |
| Cyan Aura | Level 3 Uncommon | x2 | $75K or 29 Robux |
| Cobalt Aura | Level 4 Uncommon | x2.25 | $1.5M or 49 Robux |
Buying an Aura and training on the machine are separate actions. Because Auras multiply your Stamina, compare training sessions with the same Aura equipped. Otherwise you cannot tell how much the machine actually added.
Dino Index rewards
The first time you catch any species or variant, it gets an entry in the Dino Index. Each new entry has a one-time reward of Cash plus a permanent increase to your maximum Stamina. Open the Index and use CLAIM ALL to collect every reward waiting for you at once. This is also why catching a variety of dinosaurs pays off, even when the new ones earn less than what is already in your pen.

Fuse Machine rules
The Fuse Machine takes three dinosaurs of the same type and can turn them into one larger dinosaur that earns more Cash. The dinosaurs you put in are used up. A successful fuse grows your biggest one up a size tier, for example from BIG to GIANT.
- The base success chance is 50 percent.
- A failed attempt shows a message like “No luck this time,” and your largest dinosaur stays the same size.
- The shop sells Luck, which raises your chances.
- Dinosaurs already in your pen can be used as fuse ingredients.
Unlocking zones through Jurassic Airlines
Nine biomes are available, among them Plains, Forest, Jungle, Desert, and Extinction. Later areas feature stronger dinosaurs that bring in higher earnings. Each zone opens when you meet its Stamina threshold. For a flight, go to the Jurassic Airlines stall and speak with Captain Pip. He shows which zones are within reach and asks for a single fare to take you to your selection. Once paid, you can launch runs there directly instead of traveling from the start every time.
Watch for server-wide announcements in later zones. Secret dinosaurs appear now and then with alerts such as “A Secret TINY Barosaurus Fossil spawned in Extinction!” There is no confirmed schedule for when they appear. You may also see “ALL HERDS RESET!”, which means the wild herds have been refreshed.

Ride a Dino PC controls
- Movement: W, A, S, D
- Jump between dinosaurs: Spacebar
- Interact with machines, shops, NPCs, and your pen: E
On mobile devices, Jump is an on-screen button. Ride a Dino costs nothing to play; optional purchases include Auras priced in Robux. Cash can also earn you everything in the gameplay loop. Progress follows one sequence throughout: build income, train Stamina, claim Index rewards, fuse duplicates, then pay to enter the next biome.
