MW4 DMZ Operation Silent Ledger Story Mission Walkthrough (Vault and Plates)

Operation Silent Ledger is a casino heist and one of the DMZ story missions in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, set at the Heavenly Luck Casino in Cheongun Village. It is the mission that ends the Counterfeit chapter. To reach the vault, you have to restore power in the basement, open a fence from a camera in the penthouse, then drill the vault and hold off soldiers until it breaks. After that, you carry the printing plates out under fire.

Quick answer: Start the basement generator, open the vault fence on CAMERA 01 from Penthouse Security, drill and hold the vault, take the PLATE BAG from the inner cage, and board the exfil chopper.

Operation Silent Ledger objectives in order

The mission card lists three main objectives: Enter the Casino, Breach the Vault, and Secure the Plates. Once you are in the field, the HUD splits those into eight lines under the mission name.

The card rates the mission THREAT ASSESSMENT: MEDIUM and recommends a 2-Plate Armor Vest and a Medkit. Bring both. You will fight through several rooms of the casino before the vault opens. Operation Silent Ledger sits on the bottom row of the mission tree, next to Operation Critical Extraction.

Getting into the Heavenly Luck Casino and restoring power

You infil into Cheongun Village, which shows as low threat on the HUD. A banner warns that COMMANDER DEATHSTALKER roams the area. He has no part in this mission, so keep moving. Look for the HOTEL AND CASINO sign. When you reach the compound, the banner switches to HEAVENLY LUCK CASINO with a high threat rating.

Clear the guards posted at the front of the casino. Once they are down, go in through the front entrance.

Cross the lobby seating area to reach the elevators. They have no power. As soon as you reach them, the objective changes to Start the Generator.

Head past the Phoenix Room and through the kitchen and back corridors, where more guards are waiting. Take the stairs down until the banner reads HEAVENLY LUCK CASINO PARKING.

Find the back utility room off the parking level and use the “TURN ON THE GENERATOR” prompt. The lobby elevators come back online.

Soldiers move into the parking garage once the generator is running. While you are down there, you will pass the caged vault gate. It reads “DOOR UNLOCKS VIA SECURITY SYSTEM”, and you cannot open it by hand. You have to go upstairs to open it.

Opening the vault fence from Penthouse Security

Take the elevator up to the casino floor. Then switch to the Penthouse elevator and ride it the rest of the way up.

Fight your way up the red staircase, across the mezzanine, and through the VIP rooms. “SECURITY STATION NEARBY” appears as you get close. Guards hold the corridor and the doorway outside Penthouse Security.

Use the computer on the security station desk to open the camera view. Along the bottom of the screen are PREVIOUS CAMERA, HOLD TO EXIT, NEXT CAMERA, ZOOM OUT, NIGHT VISION, and ZOOM IN.

Armored reinforcements break into the office while you are on the cameras. Exit the terminal, clear them out, and then log back in.

Cycle to CAMERA 01, the one pointed at the caged vault gate on the parking level. Aim at the gate and use “OPEN SECURITY FENCE”.

Drilling the vault and taking the Plate Bag

Use the elevator prompt “USE ELEVATOR – DESCEND” to go back down to the parking level. Walk through the now-open fence to the round vault door.

Use “ATTACH DRILL TO VAULT DOOR”. “CASINO VAULT BEING BREACHED” appears, and a DRILLING SAFE bar starts filling. It takes a little over a minute.

Find cover in the hallway in front of the vault and hold it. Waves of soldiers push in while the drill runs. When it finishes, “CASINO VAULT HAS BEEN BREACHED” appears.

Pick the padlock on the inner cage until PADLOCK PICKED appears. Take the PLATE BAG from the table. It is marked as a MISSION ITEM, and picking it up advances the mission.

The plates aren’t the only thing in the vault. There is loose cash on the shelves and on a cart. You will also find NUCLEAR PROGRAM FILES, a rare and valuable item described as “Can be extracted and sold in the FOB for cash.” The inner room holds CASH BAGs and padlocked glass cases with more cash.

Vault side ops: Cash Bags Secured and Repair the Vehicle

Two SIDE-OPS appear in the vault. Neither one is needed to finish the story mission.

“Cash Bags Secured” counts up to 12 and starts at 0/12 once the plates are looted. Each CASH BAG card reads RARE, VALUABLE, with a value of 1,500.
Carrying bags out of the vault cage into the corridor raises the counter.
Once you are holding the plate bag and cash bags, a “THROW CASH BAG” prompt on F stays on screen.
“Repair the Vehicle” counts up to 4 and is tied to a disabled radar truck.
Green military cargo trucks are parked in the garage and outside the shutter.

Extracting the printing plates in the exfil chopper

Looting the vault triggers “VAULT LOOTED, BACKUP CALLED!”, so expect a fight on your way out of the basement.

Go to the large white roller shutter at the end of the parking garage. Press the green button on the control box beside it to raise the shutter.

Head out into the street. “EXFIL HELICOPTER INBOUND” appears once you are outside.

Grab a vehicle; a nearby one shows an ENTER GRIZZLY prompt. Drive out of Cheongun Village along the road to the chopper at Cheongun Outskirts.

Clear the soldiers around the helicopter and climb aboard. MISSION COMPLETE / STORY MISSION appears once you are inside.

Because the final objective ends at the chopper, finishing the mission also gets you out of the zone. The next screen reads EXTRACTION SUCCESSFUL. The extraction summary lists a Story Mission Payout of 5,000, along with any cash you banked and any misc cash you earned along the way.
