Quick answer: Green Serpent Brew removes Burn, since it clears all status effects. To take less of it, wear Flameward and step out of the fire.
Remove Burn with Green Serpent Brew
Green Serpent Brew doesn’t target fire specifically. Its card reads:
“Removes all status effects, increases status resistance by 75% for 15 seconds, and gradually restores 20% HP over the same duration.”

Flameward won’t clear Burn once you have it. It makes fire hit softer and slows how fast Burn builds up, which matters most in fire-heavy fights. Its base card reads:
“Reduces fire damage by 50% and Burn buildup rate by 50%.”

Refining it improves both numbers. The refined card reads:
“Reduces fire damage by 80% and Burn buildup rate by 80%.”
You still need to move. Standing in fire keeps the damage coming no matter what you have equipped. Getting clear of the flames, as you would in the Blaze boss fight, is part of keeping Burn off Soul’s health bar.
What sets you on fire
Enemy fire isn’t the only source of Burn. The Sha-Chi Blood Catalyst sets Soul alight on purpose in exchange for extra damage and healing. Its card reads:
“Increases [Heavy Attack] Sha-Chi Combo damage by 20% for 15 seconds and restores 20% HP, but ignites you.”
If you keep catching fire and can’t see where it’s coming from, check whether you just used this catalyst. The Burn it causes is still a status effect, so Green Serpent Brew clears it the same way.
Flame barriers are different
Burning brambles and flame barriers found in the world are obstacles, not the Burn status, so Green Serpent Brew can’t clear them. You Loong’s Deluge extinguishes these fires whether or not you have it equipped.
