Cyclops joins as a new Duelist
Cyclops is the headline addition of Season 8.5 and slots into the Duelist role with a ranged, beam-focused kit. He becomes playable the moment the June 12 update is installed.
| Ability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Snapshot Blast (Primary Fire) | Fires a short burst of optic energy for quick damage |
| Optic Stream (Alt Fire) | Channels a sustained beam to wear down tougher targets |
| Wide-Angle Blast (Ability 1) | Releases a cone blast that knocks nearby enemies back and deals damage |
| Ricochet Blast (Ability 2) | Fires a beam that bounces off walls at an angle |
| Optic Recoil (Movement) | Pushes Cyclops backward from the direction he faces to escape pressure |
| Visor Off (Ultimate) | Removes the visor for a sustained high-damage beam; he stays stationary but can aim freely |
Team-up changes: Primal Flame and Blast Slash
The update swaps one team-up for another. Wolverine is removed from Primal Flame, and a new pairing centered on Cyclops takes its place.
- Primal Flame no longer includes Wolverine.
- Blast Slash is the new team-up, linking Cyclops and Wolverine.
Bounty Annihilation 18v18 mode
Season 8.5 adds Bounty Annihilation, an 18v18 mode that ships with its own dedicated map, the Kun-Lun Shenloong Arena. It launches alongside the rest of the update on June 12.
Rival Summer Festival and Season 1 Day Vault
The Rival Summer Festival starts after the June 18th update, not on launch day. During the event you can earn up to 2,500 units through daily login rewards and a chain of activities, and a new social hub called Hellfire Bay Beach opens with it. A set of swimsuit costumes goes on sale during the festival.
Separately, the Season 1 Day Vault runs from June 12th to June 26th. It brings back limited-time costumes and events that originally ran from July to September 2025, including the earlier swimsuit specials and summer collections.

Path to Doomsday delay
The Path to Doomsday roadmap has been pushed back to allow more polish on its remaining content. Phase two now lands in late July, and phase three moves to mid-October.
To confirm the update applied correctly, restart the client and check that the new version is installed, then look for Cyclops in the Duelist roster, Bounty Annihilation in the mode select, and the Season 1 Day Vault entry in the store. If those appear, the balance numbers above are already active in your matches.
