King Sprite in Fortnite: Where to Find and Extract It (Chapter 7 Season 3)

What the King Sprite does, where it spawns, and the exact extraction steps to add it to your collection.

The King Sprite is one of the collectible companions in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and like every other Sprite this season, you only keep it if you extract it. It sits in the Epic rarity tier, so it spawns less often than the elemental Sprites and takes a bit more effort to secure before the end of a match.

Quick answer: Find a King Sprite inside Sprite Chests, blue Rare Chests, or looted from defeated AI bots, carry it to an Extraction Site (or drop a Portable Extractor Gizmo), then defend the area until the extraction finishes to permanently unlock it.

King Sprite stats and ability

The King Sprite grants increased Pickaxe damage while it is equipped, which turns your harvesting tool into a real threat in close-quarters fights and speeds up how you break through structures. It is an Epic-rarity Sprite, and once unlocked it carries a summon cost you pay to bring it into a match.

Where to find the King Sprite in Fortnite

The King Sprite has no fixed spawn point. It is tied to RNG, but it appears in a small set of Epic-tier sources, so heading straight for those raises your odds of running into one.

  • Sprite Chests
  • Blue Rare Chests
  • Looted from defeated AI bots
  • Seven Caches and other high-tier loot zones

Lower-rarity Sprites such as Earth, Fire, and Water show up far more often, so expect to open several Sprite Chests or clear a few AI bots before an Epic King Sprite appears. Landing near Seven Caches and prioritizing Sprite Chests early gives you the most attempts per match.

How to extract the King Sprite

Finding the King Sprite does not add it to your account. You have to survive long enough to extract it, which is where most attempts fall apart.

Pick up the King Sprite once you find it in a chest or on a downed AI bot, and start carrying it.
Travel to an Extraction Site on the map, or equip a Portable Extractor Gizmo and deploy it wherever you are standing.
Activate the extraction. This starts a timer and usually draws the attention of other players, so position yourself with cover nearby.
Defend the area until the extraction timer completes. If you go down or leave before it finishes, the Sprite is not banked.

The Portable Extractor is the faster route because you avoid the long trek to a fixed site, which means less time exposed and fewer chances for an opponent to interrupt you.

How to confirm the King Sprite is unlocked

A successful extraction adds the King Sprite permanently to your collection, where you can later level it up. After that, you select it before a match during the pre-match Sprite selection and pay its summon cost to bring it in. If the extraction is interrupted or you are eliminated mid-timer, the Sprite stays out of your collection and you will need to find another one.

Gummy King Sprite variant

There is also a Gummy King Sprite, a Special variant that shares the Epic base rarity but adds a 10% boost to the Sprite Dust you collect on extraction, stacking on top of the standard King Sprite buff. You can find it inside Sprite Chests, Rare Chests, or looted from defeated AI bots, the same spots as the standard version. Because Gummy variants are still new to the loot pool, they are harder to come across right now and should become more common as the season continues.

If you are chasing the full set, treat the King Sprite as a steady Epic-tier grind: hit Sprite Chests, clear AI bots, and always carry an extraction option so a lucky find never goes to waste.
