War Prime is the upgraded version of Hunhow’s War heavy blade, and it became fully craftable with the Jade Shadows: Constellations update. Before that, the weapon only showed up during story missions. Now you can earn the right materials, buy the blueprint, and forge a permanent copy for your arsenal.
Quick answer: Finish Jade Shadows: Constellations, run Uranus Proxima missions until you have 12 Crimson Talents and 12 Emerald Talents, buy the Hunhow’s Trinket blueprint from Hunhow at the Pontis Tower node, then build War Prime with 5 Nitain Extract, 1 Orokin Cell, 1 Argon Crystal, and 15,000 Credits over a 12-hour craft.
Requirements to unlock War Prime
Two things gate the weapon. You need to clear the Jade Shadows: Constellations quest, since that unlocks access to Hunhow as a vendor in the Pontis Tower. You also need the right tokens to buy the blueprint, and those come from the new Railjack content on Uranus Proxima.
- Completion of Jade Shadows: Constellations.
- 12 Crimson Talents.
- 12 Emerald Talents.
- Crafting materials: 5 Nitain Extract, 1 Orokin Cell, 1 Argon Crystal, and 15,000 Credits.

The Talents drop from the Railjack missions on the Uranus Proxima. During these runs you side with either Vena or Ryoku to bring down the rival protoframes. Clearing the missions hands over the Crimson and Emerald Talents you need, plus extra resources like the Sirius and Orion blueprints.
Keep running until you bank a full 12 of each Talent type. That total covers the exact cost of the blueprint at Hunhow’s shop.
Buy the Hunhow’s Trinket blueprint and craft War Prime

Note: War Prime cannot be sold for Credits, so there is no risk of losing it through the normal sell menu.
War Prime vs War: stat comparison
War Prime is a heavy blade that deals mostly Impact damage, and every hit on an enemy that is not ragdolled applies an Impact status effect. Compared to the base War, it carries higher base damage, stronger Impact, a bigger Critical Multiplier, and more Status Chance. Critical Chance stays the same.
| Stat | War | War Prime |
|---|---|---|
| Total base damage | 250 | 270 |
| Impact | 120 | 194.4 |
| Crit Chance | 26% | 26% |
| Crit Multiplier | 2.6x | 3.2x |
| Status Chance | 26% | 32% |
The stance slot accepts Cleaving Whirlwind and Tempo Royale, the same families that fit the base weapon. If you already have a well-modded War, the gains here are modest, so the Prime is a worthwhile pickup rather than a forced upgrade. War Prime is the third Primed weapon of Sentient origin, following Vadarya Prime and Venato Prime.
