The bamboo you need for the Bamboo Bash challenge in Forza Horizon 6 sits in one dense pocket of the Japan map, and you can clear the whole requirement in a single run. The challenge asks you to smash 30 bamboo, and a real bamboo forest grows right beside one of the game’s speed zones, so there is no need to hunt for stray stalks scattered around the open world.

Quick answer: Drive or fast travel to the Arashiyama Run speed zone and crash through the bamboo lining its road until you reach 30. The road itself runs through the forest, so a single pass usually finishes the count.

Arashiyama Run speed zone location

The bamboo forest is built around the Arashiyama Run speed zone, an off-road dirt track that crosses the eastern side of the map. It sits on the border where the Minamino, Ito, and Hokubu regions meet, and the route connects Minamino to Ito directly through the trees.

If you are using nearby landmarks to find it, the forest lies east-northeast of Shirakawa-Go, north-northwest of Ito Airfield, and west-northwest of Kitayama Big Daisugi. Open your map, look toward the right-hand edge, and the orange speed-zone road marks the spot.

Once you arrive, the road is flanked by hundreds of bamboo stalks on either side. Drive straight down the track, and the stalks fall as you pass, so you will hit 30 quickly and have far more left over if you want to keep going.

You need the orange wristband first

The Arashiyama Run speed zone does not appear on your map until you have earned the orange wristband through the campaign. If the activity icon is missing, keep progressing the festival until the orange tier unlocks, then the speed zone and its surrounding forest become available.

After the wristband is unlocked, you can fast travel to the speed zone or drive there normally. Either way, the bamboo is waiting at the same fixed location.

Bamboo Bash challenge requirement and rewards

Bamboo Bash is part of the Autumn series in the Horizon Decades festival playlist. Smashing 30 bamboo completes it, and the challenge runs from June 25 to July 2. Finishing it pays out three Season Points and a Super Wheelspin.

Those Season Points feed into the wider Autumn reward track. Reaching the point thresholds unlocks two season cars, so clearing Bamboo Bash moves you closer to both.

How to confirm the challenge is complete

As you crash through the stalks, the on-screen Bamboo Bash counter ticks up toward 30. When it reaches the target, the challenge registers as complete and your three Season Points and Super Wheelspin are awarded. You can verify this in the Horizon Decades playlist menu, where the entry switches to a finished state.

If the counter is not moving, you are likely outside the bamboo forest. Make sure you are on the Arashiyama Run road specifically, since that is where the stalks are concentrated, and keep driving until you have smashed enough to push the total to 30.

There is a bonus to lingering here. Plowing through the full stretch of bamboo chains a large skill multiplier, which is an easy way to bank extra skill points for your car while you finish the challenge.

Forza Horizon 6 is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a PS5 version planned for later in 2026.
