Quick answer: In Crimson Forest, the Cliffside Lodge bell is a wooden cross beside two clay jars, plus a stone wall, just east of the large wooden storehouse. Drop into the stake pit, wall-run up both log walls, and continue along the slope.

Where the Cliffside Lodge bell is

During Chapter 1 of Phantom Blade Zero, the bell is found in Crimson Forest. It is a plain wooden cross outdoors on snowy ground, with two clay jars and a low stone wall beside it. Look just beyond the storehouse’s eastern side; the large wooden building stands on the slope above the stake pit. The storehouse interior won’t get you there, since a wall inside cuts off that route. Circle around the building instead.

How to reach the Cliffside Lodge bell

Begin at the bandit campfire reached by the long stone stairway that rises above the Red Serpent House bell. The Cliff of Longing bell is on the cliff directly over this campfire.

Walk off the east edge of the campfire area and drop into the pit below. The pit is lined with sharpened wooden stakes and filled with corpses, and the fall costs a little health.

At the bottom of the pit, find the log wall bearing white X marks. Approach until the “Space” prompt appears, then hit Space to run up the wall and reach a rock ledge.

A second log wall stands right next to that ledge. Move up to it and press Space again when the “Space” prompt shows.

You emerge onto a slope dotted with red shrubs and patches of snow. Among the shrubs is a Remnant Dust heap you can collect as you pass.

Head north along the slope, over old stone steps and past clay jars. The big wooden storehouse stands at the end of the slope. It holds crates, jars, stairs and another Remnant Dust heap on its floor.

The storehouse interior isn’t the way through. Start by the clay jars to its south, then head uphill along the exterior of its east wall.

Round the corner to find a wooden cross near two clay jars and a stone wall. Wait beside the cross for the E prompt to appear, then press E.

Enemies between the stake pit and the bell

  • A Sick Dog roams the stake pit.
  • One Thief guards the slope near the storehouse.
  • Two Thieves guard the jars south of the storehouse, near the spot where you begin on its east side.
  • Near the bell, two dogs remain still on a rocky ledge overlooking the path.

Thieves hurl knives from a distance, so close in on them rather than keeping your distance. Deal with the pair by the jars before you start round the storehouse: walking past them leaves you taking knives on the way up.
