College Football 27: Play the 10-Hour EA Play Trial on July 2

An EA Play membership lets you jump into all game modes early with 10 hours of playtime that carries over to a full purchase.

An EA Play membership lets you jump into all game modes early with 10 hours of playtime that carries over to a full purchase.

EA SPORTS College Football 27 opens early access on July 2, 2026, and you do not need the MVP+ Membership or the Deluxe Edition to get on the field the same day. An EA Play subscription unlocks a 10-hour trial that runs on the exact same schedule as the earliest paid access, so you can start playing without buying the full game up front.

Quick answer: Subscribe to EA Play ($5.99/month), open the College Football 27 store page on your platform, select the trial edition, and download it once early access goes live at 9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET on July 2. You get 10 hours of gameplay across every mode.

EA Play trial offer for College Football 27

What you need before the trial unlocks

The only requirement is an active EA Play membership on the platform where you plan to play. EA Play costs $5.99 a month or $39.99 for a full year, and you can cancel at any time. Payment works with credit, debit, or PayPal, and it renews automatically until you cancel.

If you already have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, EA Play is bundled in, so you do not need a separate membership. You can sign up or check your membership on the official EA Play page for College Football 27.

Note: The trial cannot be pre-downloaded. Unlike a full purchase, it only becomes available to install once early access begins on July 2, so plan for the download time on launch day.

How to download the College Football 27 trial with EA Play

Make sure you have an active EA Play membership on your platform. If you own Game Pass Ultimate, your EA Play access is already included and you can skip buying a standalone plan.
Wait for early access to go live at 9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET on July 2. The trial does not appear for download before this window opens.
Go to the College Football 27 store page. Choose the trial edition if it does not already appear as the default option for members, then start the free download.
Launch the game and start playing. Your 10 hours begin counting once you are in gameplay, and every mode is open to you during the trial.

How the 10-hour trial works

The trial gives you the Standard Edition experience for up to 10 hours. That time is measured by in-game play, not by the clock, so you can close the game and spread those hours across several sessions instead of burning them in one sitting.

DetailWhat to expect
PlaytimeUp to 10 hours of gameplay time
TimingCounts active play only, so it can be split across sessions
ModesAll game modes, including College Football Ultimate Team (CUT)
ProgressionCarries over if you convert to a full purchase
Discount10% off if you upgrade the trial to the full game

Anything you accomplish during the trial stays with your account. If you buy the full game later, your saves and in-game progress carry forward, and EA Play members also save 10% on the purchase.

PC and Deluxe Edition owners: use the trial to start on July 2

The MVP+ Membership, which grants seven-day early access from July 2, is not available on PC. That means the earliest a PC Deluxe Edition owner can normally play is July 6, when the three-day early access window opens.

The EA Play trial closes that gap. Even if you already own the Deluxe Edition on PC, you can run the trial to start playing on July 2 and get a head start of up to 10 hours before your full early access begins on July 6. There is no reason to sit out those extra days.

Early access dates for every option

College Football 27 launches worldwide on July 9, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the EA app, Steam, and Epic. Here is how each access path lines up.

Access pathStartWhat you get
EA Play trialJuly 210-hour gameplay trial, all modes
MVP+ MembershipJuly 27-day early access (not on PC)
Deluxe Edition / MVP BundleJuly 63-day early access
Standard EditionJuly 9Worldwide launch

How to confirm the trial is working

You will know the trial is active when the game installs and launches with your remaining trial time shown, and you can enter any mode, including CUT, without a full-game prompt blocking you. If you cannot find the trial to download, the most common reasons are simple to check.

  • Early access has not started yet, since the trial only appears after 9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET on July 2.
  • Your EA Play membership is inactive, or you are signed in to a different account than the one with the membership.
  • You selected the full purchase instead of the trial edition on the store page.

Once those boxes are ticked, the trial download is free, and your 10 hours are yours to use across the full game from July 2 onward. If you decide the game is for you, converting to the full version keeps everything you built and applies the 10% member discount.
