Marvel Rivals Season 9 kicks off a packed month of drops, starting with new Strategist Jubilee and running weekly updates all the way to the Season 9.5 mid-season swap. Between now and then you get a fresh convoy map, an Avengers: Age of Ultron PvE mode, a full Team-Up overhaul, a Black Widow rework, and a long list of costumes tied to the X-Men, the MCU, and the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day film.
Quick answer: Season 9 goes live July 10, 2026 at 9 AM UTC after roughly two hours of maintenance, and it runs until August 7, 2026, when Season 9.5 begins with new hero The Hood.
Season 9 release schedule at a look
Instead of dumping everything on launch day, NetEase Games is staggering the content across five dates. Here is the full timeline for Season 9.0.
| Date | Headline content |

| July 10 | Jubilee, Team-Up overhaul, Black Widow rework, new battle pass, launch events and costumes |
| July 17 | Van Dyne Couture event and new costumes |

July 10 launch: Jubilee and everything on day one
Jubilee headlines the launch as the season’s new Strategist. Her kit is built around fireworks, using Lumikinetic Explosive Light Blasts to heal allies while damaging and blinding enemies at the same time, and her Ultimate sets off a full firework show. Servers go offline for about two hours from 9 AM UTC on July 10 before she goes live.
Launch day also brings a new battle pass, the Faith-Harvesting Engine, plus two events, Death of Apocalypse and The Resurrection of the Horsemen. Both are expected to hand out free Units and skins as you complete them.
Here is what drops on July 10.
| Type | Content |
|---|---|
| New hero | Jubilee (Strategist) |
| Battle pass | The Faith-Harvesting Engine |
| Events | Death of Apocalypse, The Resurrection of the Horsemen |
| Costumes | Jubilee “Midnight Mutant”, Rogue “Raider Prime”, Wolverine “Horsemen of Death” |
| Accessory | Shogo Tote (Devil Dinosaur) |
Team-Up overhaul and Black Widow rework
The biggest gameplay change is a rebuild of the Team-Up system. Every hero now gets two independent Team-Up Ability loadouts. Some abilities are brand new, while others replace existing base abilities, and returning Team-Ups from earlier seasons are folded back in.
You pick one loadout outside the match to fit your playstyle, then swap freely mid-match from the Spawn Room. Each loadout has a Base Effect that is always active and an Enhanced Effect that only kicks in when the Team-Up partner is actually playing in the match.
Black Widow also gets a heavy rework that keeps her sniper identity but changes how she plays. The key changes:
- The ADS sniper mode is removed from her standard state, and her primary fire rate is increased.
- The charged electro-plasma blast moves out of her Ultimate and becomes normally available, dealing damage and slowing enemies it hits.
- Her Ultimate is now the ADS sniper mode, lasting for a set duration or bullet count. Critical hits no longer one-shot, but the bullet hitbox is much wider and shots pierce through enemies, with no damage falloff at range.
- Stamina limits are gone from her sprint and super-jump, her spinning kick stays, and a new airborne ability lets her launch to a target and slam down with her Widow’s Bite Gauntlets for AoE damage.
July 17: Van Dyne Couture event
The first event pass of the season is Van Dyne Couture, arriving July 17. Magneto, Invisible Woman, and Adam Warlock all pick up formalwear costumes from designer Van Dyne.

Three more costumes hit the store the same day: Gambit “Horsemen of Death”, Hawkeye “Van Dyne Designs”, and a Devil Dinosaur “Jeff the Dinosaur” skin that turns the dino into a matching pair with Jeff.
July 24: Thebes convoy map
Thebes, a new map built around ancient Egypt, joins the rotation on July 24 rather than at launch. It is a Convoy map, so expect an escort-style objective as you push the payload through the desert setting.

Two store skins land alongside the map: Hela “Temple Protectors” in Egyptian-themed attire and Psylocke “Horsemen of Death” in golden armor.
July 31: Path to Doomsday PvE mode and MCU skins
The long-delayed PvE mode finally shows up on July 31. Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Age of Ultron sends players into Avengers Tower and Ultron’s Data Space to fight Ultron and his drone army together, rather than against each other. Themed events also pop up in the Times Square lobby around it.
This date also carries the season’s MCU-tied costume wave, timed to the theatrical release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on the same day.
| Hero | Costume |
|---|---|
| Spider-Man | Brand New Day |
| Hulk | Brand New Day |
| Scarlet Witch | Avengers: Age of Ultron |
| Winter Soldier | Captain America: The Winter Soldier |
The Marvel Rivals Ignite Series Mid-Season Finals also run during this window, closing out the competitive half of the season.
August 7: Season 9.5 and The Hood
Season 9 wraps on August 7, when the Season 9.5 mid-season update takes over. The Hood, real name Parker Robbins, is confirmed as the next playable hero, with early leaks pointing to a Vanguard role. Full details on his kit and the rest of the 9.5 lineup arrive closer to that date.
Note: dates cover the Season 9.0 content only. Anything sitting under the “coming soon” 9.5 banner, including additional summer or event skins, has not been dated yet and will follow after August 7.
You will know Season 9 is live once maintenance ends and Jubilee, the reworked Team-Up loadouts, and the Faith-Harvesting Engine battle pass appear in your client. Everything else on the roadmap unlocks on its listed date, so there is no rush to grab it all on July 10.
