The Duskwire is a Stage 6 rod in Fisch built around mutations, with very high Luck and Resilience and a heavy Weight penalty. You unlock it by finishing Hollow’s quest at the Underground Music Venue, then buying the rod outright. The fastest path is knowing the level gate, the single fish you need, and the cash to have ready before you start.
Quick answer: Reach Level 275, catch a Catfish, turn it in to Hollow inside the Underground Music Venue, then buy the Duskwire for 1,750,001 C$.

Requirements before you start
Gather these three things first so the unlock never stalls. Missing the level or the cash is the most common reason players get to Hollow and cannot finish.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Level | 275 minimum to obtain the rod |
| Quest item | One Catfish, turned in to Hollow |
| Cash | 1,750,001 C$ to purchase after the quest |
| Cove access | A Chaotic Enchant Relic to solve the Crystal Cove puzzle |

Catch a Catfish and turn it in
Hollow’s quest asks for a single Catfish. Line up the conditions below to make the catch quick instead of grinding blind.
| Catfish condition | Best setting |
|---|---|
| Location | Mushgrove Swamp |
| Weather | Foggy |
| Time | Night |
| Bait | Worm |
| Season | Autumn or Summer |
Once you reel in a Catfish, return to Hollow and hand it over. Completing the turn-in also awards 10 CHUD XP and clears the requirement to buy the rod.

Buy the Duskwire and confirm the unlock
After the Catfish is delivered, Hollow offers to sell you the guitar-shaped rod. The purchase price is 1,750,001 C$. You know the unlock worked when the Duskwire enters your inventory, and the Rod Journal grants 5,000 XP for obtaining it.
Note: If the buy option is greyed out, you are below Level 275 or short on cash. Both must be met at the moment of purchase.

The Invincible enchant is mandatory
The Duskwire’s Max Kg sits at -757,575 kg, which means it cannot catch anything in its default state. Casting it without a weight fix returns a warning that the rod is too weak for the area. The Invincible Exalted enchant grants infinite Weight capacity and is the only enchant that makes the rod usable.
Invincible is one of several Exalted Enchant Relics, so you may need to reroll the enchant more than once to land it. For grinding, pair Herculean with Invincible to raise Control, Max Kg, and Progress Speed, or run Momentum with Invincible once Rod Improvement reaches 20% or higher to build Lure Speed, Resilience, and Progress Speed over time.
With that enchant in place, the Duskwire becomes a mutation machine, leaning on its Chaotic and Darkened rates and its strong progress passives to reel in high-value catches consistently.
