Where Winds Meet: Stranger Kin Walkthrough and Both Endings

Stranger Kin is a Wandering Tales side quest in Where Winds Meet built around a boy waiting for his missing brother. The quest is short, but a choice near the end splits into two endings that change dialogue and the final journal clue. The rewards stay the same either way, so you never have to replay it for a better payout.

Quick answer: Talk to Han Zhaoming at Jing River Crossing in Rivergaze Plateau, take the Small Knife, find Han Ye near the Meow Meow Puzzle down the river, return to Han Zhaoming and pick either dialogue option, then speak to him once more by the hut across the river to finish the quest.

Where to start Stranger Kin

Head to Jing River Crossing in Rivergaze Plateau, which sits northeast of Qinchuan Path in the Hexi region. Look next to the Jing River Crossing Boundary Stone and speak to the boy Han Zhaoming to trigger the Wandering Tale.

Stranger Kin walkthrough

Talk to Han Zhaoming, who is waiting for his brother to return. He asks you to search the ships for him and hands over a Small Knife to show the brother as proof.

If Han Zhaoming does not hand you the Small Knife, check your in-game mail to collect it. An earlier bug blocked the handoff and stopped the quest, and it was resolved with the May 8 patch, which now delivers the Small Knife by mail.

Find Han Ye, who is actually close by near the Meow Meow Puzzle down the river. Talk to him and hand over the Small Knife, though he stays disoriented and confused even after you give it to him.

Return to Han Zhaoming and choose whether to hide or reveal the truth about Han Ye’s strange behavior. Both choices give the exact same rewards, so pick based on the ending and dialogue you want.

Talk to Han Zhaoming one last time. Regardless of your choice, he leaves and reappears under the hut across the river, just in front of the pier, where the final conversation closes out the quest.
