Fiber is one of the first crafting materials you run low on in Palworld 1.0. It feeds into cloth outfits, bows, grenades, fishing rods, saddles, beds, and a long list of base furniture, yet no single node dumps it in bulk. The fastest path is to stop gathering it by hand and let a machine make it for you.
Quick answer: Build a Crusher at Technology Level 8, feed it Wood, and it produces two Fiber for every one Wood. Pair it with a Logging Site and an automatic Wood supply for hands-free Fiber.

Crusher: The most efficient Fiber source
The Crusher is the setup worth prioritizing. It converts Wood into Fiber at a fixed 2:1 ratio, so a large Wood pile turns into double the Fiber over time. It unlocks in the Technology tree at Level 8 for two Technology Points.
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Wood | 50 |
| Stone | 20 |
| Paldium Fragments | 10 |
You know it is working when Fiber begins stacking in your base storage while the Crusher runs. If it sits idle, the most common reason is no Watering-capable Pal is assigned to operate it, or there is no Wood in the base supply to process.

The Crusher only helps if it always has Wood to chew through. Build a Logging Site at your base and assign a Logging Pal such as Bushi or Mammorest to it. That Pal generates a steady stream of Wood, which the Crusher then converts into Fiber in the background.
With a Logging Pal feeding Wood and a Watering Pal running the Crusher, Fiber accumulates without any manual input. This loop becomes the backbone of consistent Fiber production from the mid-game onward and prevents crafting bottlenecks later.
Chopping trees for early Fiber
Before you unlock the Crusher, the axe is your main tool. Trees across the Palpagos Islands drop both Wood and Fiber when chopped, so there is no specific location to hunt down. A stone axe gives a strong output per swing without wearing down as fast, and trees regrow quickly for a renewable supply.
Fiber does not fall on every hit, so the drop rate feels slow at scale. For early needs like cloth outfits and your first bow, though, working through a wooded patch covers you until the Crusher is running.
Pals that drop Fiber
Certain Pals drop Fiber when defeated or captured. This is not worth a dedicated farming trip since trees and the Crusher are faster, but it is free Fiber whenever you fight these Pals for other loot.

Housing shed-capable Pals like Hangyu on a Ranch can also yield Fiber over time without a fight, giving you a small extra trickle alongside your Crusher output.
What Fiber is used for
Fiber runs through nearly every branch of the crafting tree, which is why a steady supply matters. Here is where most of it goes.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Weapons | Old Bow, Fire Bow, Poison Bow, Compound Bow, grenades, Grappling Gun |
| Saddles | Eikthyrdeer Saddle, Nitewing Saddle, Jormuntide Saddle, and many more |
| Base and beds | Shoddy Bed, Fluffy Pal Bed, Ranch, Breeding Farm, Repair Kit |
| Furniture | Amusement Furniture Set, Antique Cabinet, Antique Desk Set, Houseplant Set |
| Armor | Common Shield, Farming Hat, Feathered Hair Band |
Because so much depends on it, the smart move is to lock in automatic Fiber production early. Once the Crusher and a Wood supply are running side by side, Fiber stops being something you chase and simply becomes a resource that is always in stock when you need to craft.
