Equipment gives units in Anime Expeditions extra stats and, in many cases, powerful passive effects that change how a unit fights. It splits into two groups. Unit-specific gear only works on the exact character it was built for, usually the evolved form, while standard gear can go on any unit for smaller early-game boosts.
Quick answer: Farm the matching story area on Mastery difficulty for a 5% drop with 20-clear pity, or craft the piece at the Armory Forge in the Expedition Hub. The Hexed Blade is the exception, since it only comes from the Crafting Station.

How equipment drops and crafting work
Unit-specific pieces have two reliable routes. Each one has a Mastery drop tied to a specific story region, and almost all of them can also be crafted at the Armory Forge inside the Expedition Hub.
Every Mastery drop uses the same odds. You have a 5% chance per clear, with a 20-clear pity that guarantees the piece if you have not received it by then. If you would rather not gamble on drops, the Armory Forge lets you craft the gear directly using Expedition materials collected from the Expeditions game mode.
| Crafting material | Where it drops (Expeditions) |
|---|---|
| Cursed Timber | School Grounds |
| Lush Dirt | Flower Forest |
| Aqua Shard | Rose Kingdom |
| Equipment Scrap | School Grounds, Flower Forest, Rose Kingdom |
| Fuel Cell | School Grounds, Flower Forest, Rose Kingdom |
Note: The Hexed Blade for Shadow (Divine) does not appear in any Mastery pool. It is built at the Crafting Station rather than farmed.

These pieces only equip on the listed unit, and several require the evolved version to slot in. Unless noted, each one drops from its region’s Mastery stage at 5% with 20 pity, and can also be crafted at the Armory Forge.

Unit-specific passive effects
The stats above are the smaller part of what these pieces do. Each one carries a passive that only activates on the intended unit, and most need the evolved form to reach full effect.
| Equipment | Passive |
|---|---|
| Promise Ring | Spirit Bats: at 20 total bleed stacks in range, summons up to 3 bat spirits that deal 25% of current damage per attack and despawn after 3 attacks. |
| Technique Amplifier | Crumble Away: applies slow based on attack type — Explode 20%, Blast Away 35%, Twist 50%, Crush 65%. |
| Hell’s Flower | Radial Flames: when a burning enemy stops ticking in range, converts 1 burn into Austere Flames for 85% of current damage (does not stack). |
| Emperor’s Attire | Wildfire: applied burn spreads to the 5 nearest enemies that do not already have burn. |
| Webbed Fruit | Cocoon of Carnage: every 5 regular attacks cocoons and stuns an enemy for 10 hits or 5 seconds; breaking it after 10 hits deals 125% damage. |
| Boulder | Stone Wall: every 12 seconds summons a wall (max 2) with 75% of current damage as health in base form, 50% in giant form. |
| Calamity’s Eye | Puppet Creation: an enemy killed while marked by Puppet Mark spawns a doll (max 1) with 200% of current damage as health. |
| Elven Battle Staff | Arcane Spells: 3 charges casts Old Magic (line AoE, 100%), 5 charges casts Eruption (circle AoE, 125%, Mana Burn), 7 charges casts Storm (full AoE, 150%). |
| Spirit of the Moonblade | Adaptation: each unique enemy type attacked grants a permanent buff, increasing damage and crit by 10% per type. |
| Hair Bells | Demonic Presence: enemies within 50% of range take 15% of current damage every 1 second, plus a Savage Rebound follow-up that cleanses stun. |
| Hexed Blade | Winged Spirit: activates at Upgrade 3, summoning a spirit that circles at 50% of range, dealing damage and applying stun. |
All standard equipment and where it drops
Standard gear fits on any unit. It carries no unit-locked passive and generally offers weaker numbers than unit-specific pieces, but it is the fastest way to add stats early. Each piece drops from a matching story region.
| Equipment | Stats | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Kunai | +1–10% Damage, -1–5% SPA | School Grounds |
| Katana | +1–10% Physical Damage, +1–5% Damage | Flower Forest |
| Magic Orb | +1–10% Range, +1–5% Damage | Rose Kingdom |
| Warrior’s Axe | +1–10% Physical Damage, -1–5% SPA | Fairy King Forest |
| Magic Book | +1–10% Magical Damage, +1–5% Damage | King’s Tomb |
| Shinigami Sword | +5.41% Crit Chance, +3.28% Damage; +0.84% damage per enemy in range (max 15) | TBA |

How to reroll equipment stats
Because each substat rolls within a range, most pieces will not land ideal values on the first pull. Two items fix that. The Equipment Reroll rerolls the substats, and the Equipment Lock holds one substat in place so only the rest change.
Both come from Daily and Weekly Challenges, and you can also buy them from the Gold Shop, Raid Shop, Spirit City Raid Shop, and Event Shop. In the Gold Shop, an Equipment Reroll costs 2,500 Gold. Lock the high roll you want to keep first, then reroll the remaining stats to avoid losing progress.
To confirm a piece is working, open the Items menu and equip it to the correct unit. Unit-specific gear will refuse to slot onto anything but its assigned character, and once equipped the unit’s stat panel updates with the new bonuses. Passives that require the evolved form or a set upgrade level, such as the Hexed Blade’s Winged Spirit at Upgrade 3, only trigger once those conditions are met in a stage.
