The Ranch is the base structure that turns idle Pals into a steady resource stream. Assign a compatible Pal and it grazes on its own, dropping a fixed material you’d otherwise farm by hand. The catch is that only 29 Pals can work it, and each one produces a set resource, so filling the Ranch is really a decision about which materials you want flowing automatically.
Quick answer: A Ranch holds four Pals with the Farming suitability. Each drops a species-locked resource — Chikipi gives Egg, Mozzarina gives Milk, Beegarde gives Honey, Lamball gives Wool. Leveling a Pal raises how much it drops, never how many kinds.

You’ll know a Pal is working correctly when it starts grazing inside the Ranch pen and dropped items appear on the ground for collection. A Pal without Farming suitability produces nothing, no matter how long it stands there, so an empty pen usually means an incompatible Pal was assigned.
How to build the Ranch
The Ranch unlocks early. You reach the blueprint at Level 5 and spend 2 Technology Points to learn it. After that, construction requires a small stack of common materials.

Once placed, drop a compatible Pal into the pen, and it begins producing automatically. Natural Farming levels across the roster only run from Lv1 to Lv4, and only Dumud Gild and Sibelyx Primo reach Lv4.
The four-slot limit and why one Ranch can’t feed a Cake line
A single Ranch holds exactly four Pals. That hard cap matters more than it first looks, because breeding runs on Cake, and Cake needs five separate inputs.
The recipe calls for 5 Flour, 8 Red Berries, 7 Milk, 8 Egg, and 2 Honey. Four of those come from Ranch Pals — Red Berries from Caprity, Milk from Mozzarina, Egg from Chikipi, and Honey from Beegarde — but Flour does not. With only four slots, one Ranch mathematically cannot cover all five ingredients. You either run a second Ranch or produce the missing input another way, which is why a breeding farm supplied by a single Ranch tends to stall.
Pals that roll more than one item
Almost every Ranch Pal produces a single item every time. Only four roll from a weighted table, meaning their output varies between drops.

Vixy has the widest pool, which is why it stays useful across the early and mid game when you’re constantly burning Pal Spheres. Vaelet is the quickest way to stockpile crop seeds without hunting them across the map.
Leveling raises quantity, not variety
Raising a Pal’s level increases how much it drops, but never how many different items it can drop. A Level 1 Vixy still rolls its seven-item pool; a higher-level Lamball still gives Wool and only Wool. Drop variety is fixed to the species.
The quantity scaling is tied to Partner Skill level, which you raise through Pal Condensation, not the Farming suitability number itself. Condensation caps at rank 4, so there’s no confirmed way to push a Pal beyond that ceiling for even larger yields. Any single “items per hour” figure floating around should be treated with caution, since the 1.0 drop interval isn’t published and the v1.0.0 patch notes state the default production interval was adjusted.
The world setting that changes Ranch output
Only one server option affects how fast the Ranch produces. MonsterFarmActionSpeedRate is described as the item production speed multiplier from grazing, and it’s the lever to raise if you want more output per cycle.
Note: CollectionDropRate does nothing for the Ranch — it governs gatherable objects like trees and rocks, not grazing. Tweaking it in the hope of faster Ranch yields has no effect.

- Breeding (Cake ingredients): Chikipi (Egg), Mozzarina (Milk), Beegarde (Honey), Caprity (Red Berries).
- Cloth and gear: Sibelyx and Sibelyx Primo drop finished High Quality Cloth directly, skipping the 10 Wool + 1 Leather conversion. Lamball, Cremis, or Melpaca cover raw Wool; Surfent gives Leather.
- Economy and catching: Vixy for Spheres, Mau and Dumud Gild for Gold Coin, Sootseer for Bone.
- Support and crops: Vaelet for seeds, Shroomer for Mushrooms, Woolipop for Cotton Candy — worth noting that 10 Cotton Candy crafts a Revival Potion.
Sibelyx punches above its Farming level for exactly one reason: it hands you finished cloth instead of Wool, cutting out the crafting step entirely. If you’re gearing up rather than breeding, that alone makes it one of the most efficient occupants of a slot. Match the Pals to whatever your base is short on, and the Ranch quietly keeps that shelf stocked while you’re out doing everything else.
