Palworld Expeditions: How to Unlock and Maximize Every Reward

Unlock the Expedition Center, scale combat power to boost yields by up to 1348%, and target the exact loot each mission drops.

Unlock the Expedition Center, scale combat power to boost yields by up to 1348%, and target the exact loot each mission drops.

The Expedition Center turns your spare Pals into a passive supply line, sending teams out on timed adventures that return with everything from Ore and Pal Spheres to Ancient Parts and Training Manuals. The trick to a steady flood of loot is not luck. It comes down to combat power, the right elements, and unlocking every mission the game offers.

Quick answer: Reach Tech Level 15, spend two points to unlock the Expedition Center, build it at a base, and defeat at least the first Tower Boss. Then send teams of high combat power Pals that meet each expedition’s element requirement, condensing key Pals to one or two stars to push rewards up to +1348%.

Requirements to unlock the Expedition Center

Two conditions gate the whole system, and you need both before any Pal can leave on an adventure.

Reach Tech Level 15 and spend two technology points to unlock the Expedition Center, then place and build it at one of your bases. Without the structure, the expedition menu never appears.
Defeat at least the first Tower Boss. This activates the earliest expedition. Every additional Tower Boss you beat opens more missions, and there are seven bosses tied to a total of 14 expeditions across Normal and Hard difficulty.

You do not have to clear the bosses in a fixed order. Tackling a tougher boss early can unlock a better-paying expedition sooner, so it is often worth reaching above your comfort zone if you want higher-tier drops quickly.

How expedition rewards scale (the +1348% boost)

Rewards are not fixed numbers. They are calculated from the Pals you send, and combat power is the lever that matters most. The stronger the team, the more items come back and the faster the mission finishes. Push the team hard enough, and rewards climb by as much as 1348% over the baseline.

The Expedition Center walks you through two screens. The first lists each adventure with its duration, recommended combat power, overall risk, the element required for part of your team, and the potential rewards. Those rewards are possibilities, not guarantees, so expect variation on each run.

The second screen is where you build the team. You can send up to 100 Pals, and a portion of them must match the expedition’s required element to embark. Once the roster is set, the game recalculates the exact duration and reward output based on your combat power. Higher power shortens the timer and increases the haul at the same time.

Tip: Because both speed and yield scale with power, investing in a few elite teams pays off far more than sending large groups of weak Pals. Fewer, stronger Pals finish faster and return more.

Best Pals and power tips for maximum yield

To hit the highest reward multipliers, build teams around raw combat power and then specialize them by element for each expedition. A few reliable habits do most of the work.

  • Catch strong Pals and condense them, bringing key members to one or two stars for extra power.
  • Use Pal Souls, Trust, and other progression mechanics to raise each Pal to its highest possible level.
  • Keep dedicated element teams so you always meet the required type for a given expedition.
  • Frostallion Noct provides the highest combat power and is the standout pick for pushing reward multipliers.

Normal expeditions hand out mixed loot and generally improve as you unlock the later ones. Element requirements decide which teams you can send.

Hard expeditions: specialty loot and top Pals

Hard versions trade the grab-bag rewards of Normal runs for focused, high-value output. Use them when you need a specific resource in bulk.

Confirming a run and keeping the loop going

An expedition is running correctly once the team departs and the timer shown on the selection screen begins counting down. When it finishes, the rewards land automatically for collection, and because the reward pool lists possibilities rather than fixed drops, the exact items can differ between two runs of the same mission.

If a team refuses to embark, the usual cause is a missing element requirement, since a portion of the roster must match the required type. Combat power below the recommendation will not block the launch, but it lengthens the duration and shrinks the reward multiplier, so the run feels far less rewarding than it should.

Set up dedicated teams for each element, keep condensing your strongest Pals, and rotate expeditions based on what you need most. With Normal missions covering broad resources and Hard missions targeting specific materials, the Expedition Center becomes a hands-off engine that keeps your bases stocked while you focus on everything else on Palpagos Island.
