Celesdir Noct is the Dark variant of Celesdir added in Palworld 1.0, and most players don’t run it for its own damage. They run it for its partner skill, Blessing of Chaos, which trades your active fighter’s health for a large attack boost. Treat it as a support anchor and it turns an ordinary DPS Pal into a heavy hitter.
Quick answer: Keep one Celesdir Noct in your party for Blessing of Chaos (40% attack at Rank 1, up to 80% at Rank 4), pair it with a high-DPS partner or booster team, and load the fighter with Legend, Demon God, Serenity, and Musclehead. The boost does not stack, so a single copy is enough.

How Blessing of Chaos works
While Celesdir Noct sits in your party, the Pal actively fighting alongside you slowly loses health in exchange for a flat attack increase. That trade functions like the Life Orb in Pokémon. You get more damage, but you have to manage the health drain so your fighter doesn’t collapse mid-battle.
The boost scales with the skill’s rank. At Rank 1 it grants 40% attack, and pushing the partner skill to Rank 4 raises it to 80%. Because the effect does not stack, there is no reason to bring more than one Celesdir Noct. Everything else in your party can be dedicated to damage or utility.

Celesdir Noct is Paldeck entry 157B, a Dark-element Pal with rarity 7. Its own combat numbers are solid rather than exceptional, which is why it is used as a booster instead of the main attacker.
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Element | Dark |
| HP | 120 |
| Shot Attack | 115 |
| Melee Attack | 100 |
| Defense | 100 |
| Stamina | 260 |
| Ride Sprint Speed | 1200 |
| Work Suitability | Lumbering Lv. 8, Gathering Lv. 4 |
Best combat build
The goal is simple. Celesdir Noct amplifies your fighter, so you build the fighter for raw damage and build Celesdir Noct for survivability if you plan to ride it into battle. Since the attack buff applies to whichever Pal is out with you, this slots cleanly into hypercarry teams and player-booster teams alike.
Active skills
Celesdir Noct runs a full Dark skill set. Prioritize its highest-power moves so it contributes real damage when it is the one out front.
| Skill | Power | Cooldown | Unlock Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dark Nova (exclusive) | 700 | 30s | 70 |
| Dark Whisp | 600 | 30s | 50 |
| Dark Laser | 450 | 20s | 40 |
Dark Nova is the standout. It ignites a wide burst of darkness ahead, then strides forward generating pillars of darkness around itself, combining area denial with forward pressure in one cast.
Passive skills for the fighter
Stack pure attack passives on whichever Pal is doing the damage. These four give the biggest offensive return.
| Passive | Effect |
|---|---|
| Legend | Attack +20%, Defense +20%, Movement Speed +20% |
| Demon God | Attack +30%, Defense +5% |
| Serenity | Active skill cooldown reduction 30%, Attack +10% |
| Musclehead | Attack +30% (Work Speed -50%) |
Tip: Musclehead cuts work speed by half, so keep that Pal for combat only and use a separate copy for base tasks.
Passives if you ride Celesdir Noct
If Celesdir Noct itself is the Pal you take into a fight, lean toward sustain so the health drain doesn’t punish you. Idiosyncratic and healing-oriented passives keep it topped up.
| Passive | Effect |
|---|---|
| Idiosyncratic | Pal and Player Auto Health Regen +50%, Defense +25%, immune to Poison and Burn |
| Healing Coach | Player Auto Health Regeneration Rate +5% |
| Vanguard | Player Attack +10% |
| Stronghold Strategist | Player Defense +10% |
Team pairings that fit Celesdir Noct
Because a single Celesdir Noct covers the whole party’s active fighter, you have four open slots. Two setups make the most of the buff.
- Hypercarry: Put one heavy hitter out front, then fill the rest with attack boosters such as Kalpsea. Celesdir Noct’s 40–80% boost layers on top of the booster stats.
- Player booster: Run copies of Gobfin, which passively boosts your attack by 20% at Rank 4, and let Celesdir Noct amplify whichever Pal you summon.
Craft the Celesdir Noct saddle
Celesdir Noct can be ridden, which matters if you want it out front to trigger the boost while staying mobile. You need the Celesdir Noct Saddle, a Legendary item unlocked at Technology Level 78.
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Leather | 43 |
| High Quality Cloth | 28 |
| High Quality Recovery Meds | 6 |
| Dark Fragment | 20 |
| Paldium Fragment | 96 |
Base build for lumbering and gathering
Celesdir Noct is not only a combat piece. Its Lumbering Level 8 is top-tier, and Gathering Level 4 makes it useful for wood and resource collection at your base. Keep a second copy assigned to work so you never sacrifice your combat build’s passives.
For the base copy, favor work-focused passives.
- Remarkable Craftsmanship
- Artisan
- Work Slave
- Vampiric (keeps it working through the night without sleeping)
How to get Celesdir Noct
Celesdir Noct spawns as a field boss in the World Tree area, in the region northwest of the Gilded City Ruins Watchtower. It does not appear as a standard wild Pal, so you either defeat and capture it there or produce one through breeding.
Once the build comes together, the payoff is easy to confirm. Summon your fighter with Celesdir Noct in the party and its attack numbers jump immediately while its health ticks down. If the drain feels too fast, add sustain passives or swap in a healer like Felbat so you can hold the 80% boost through longer fights.
