Dragon-type Pals hit hard against dark-type foes but take double damage from ice, so the strongest ones lean on raw stats or a Partner Skill that pays off in a fight. In Palworld 1.0, the best of them either dominate direct combat, buff the rest of your party, or double as a fast flying mount. A few also carry their weight against endgame bosses.
Quick answer: Jetragon remains the top dragon for pure offense and flight. Xenolord and Eidrolon Ignis are the standout flying mounts, Shaolong and Orserk hit hardest in a dragon-heavy party, Aegidron is the defensive pick, and Astegon is the one to ride when mining ore.

Even after the 1.0 update, Jetragon sits at the top of the dragon pile. Its Partner Skill, Aerial Missile, lets you fire missiles while flying, which is still one of the strongest offensive options in the game. It ships with the Legend Passive Skill for a stat boost and its own unique Divine Dragon skill, which raises the power of its Dragon attacks by 30 percent.

Xenolord: Built for endgame raids
Xenolord is the dragon you want for the late game. It has 300 Stamina and rides as a flying mount, so it holds up during longer raids. Its Partner Skill, Meteor Wings, boosts the Partner Skills of other Pals in your party as long as they are carrying weapons. A secondary Dark typing lets it press an advantage against neutral-type Pals too.

Shaolong: A dragon that rewards a dragon party
Shaolong is one of the new Pals in 1.0, and it thrives when your team is stacked with other dragons. Its Partner Skill, Azure Sovereign, adds a damage boost for each dragon in your party, scaling from 4 percent up to 8 percent. With a base Attack stat of 135 already, that extra scaling makes it hit extremely hard.

Orserk: Electric power in a dragon shell
Orserk was a menace before 1.0 and still is, though most of its damage comes from its secondary Electric typing rather than its dragon side. Its unique Passive Skill, Lord of Lightning, adds a 30 percent power boost to all of its Electric moves.
It also buffs the rest of your team through its Partner Skill, Ferocious Thunder Dragon. Fire a weapon that uses bullets, and each shot that connects powers up your active Pal by 1 to 5 percent. That effect stacks up to 30 times.

Eidrolon Ignis: The best type combo
A dragon with a secondary Fire typing has the best elemental combination in the game, which is exactly why Eidrolon Ignis earns a place here. It flies as a mount, and its Partner Skill, Resentful Partner, boosts both Attack and Movement Speed for every dragon or fire Pal in your party. That bonus starts at 2 percent and can climb to 6 percent.
Aegidron: The defensive wall
Aegidron is the only Pal so far with the Dragon/Ground dual type, which already makes it unusual. It also plays as a defensive anchor. Its Partner Skill, Indestructible Fortress, cuts the explosive damage you and your Pals take by at least 60 percent and makes you fully immune to Stun.
Astegon: The ore-mining specialist
Astegon is the dragon to bring when you are farming ore. Its Partner Skill, Black Ankylosaur, deals far more damage to ore, between 1,100 and 1,300 percent, and can increase how much ore you pull from each mining attempt by 150 to 300 percent. Just be sure you are mounted on it while mining for the bonus to apply.
Which dragon fits your team depends on what you need most. Jetragon and the flying mounts cover travel and offense, Shaolong and Orserk reward a focused party, Aegidron keeps everyone standing through explosive attacks, and Astegon quietly makes resource runs far faster.
