King Footballer is the Mythic unit added with Universal Tower Defense Z Update 4.25, built around Barou, the self-styled villain of Blue Lock. He pulls straight from the summon banners, then evolves into King Footballer (Devour) to unlock his full kit. The design leans into his personality on the field. He builds Hunger and Damage whenever the Ball is kept away from him, then flips into Rage Mode to steal it back and hammer every enemy in range.
Quick answer: Summon King Footballer from the Special or Selection Banner (50 Gems per pull, 400 Mythic pity), then evolve him into King Footballer (Devour) with 4 Universal Fragment, 6 Petal Fragment, 12 Burning Fragment, 10 Football, 1 Devourer’s Crown, and 25,000 Gold.
How to get King Footballer from the banners
Two gachas can hand you the unit, and both cost 50 Gems per summon. VIP gamepass holders pay a reduced rate. Each banner routes to the same 400-summon Mythic pity, which guarantees a Mythic character on your 400th pull if none dropped before then.

| Banner | How it works |
|---|---|
| Special Banner | Featured units rotate every 60 minutes. The Mythic in the center slot has a higher pull chance than other units of the same rarity, so summon while King Footballer is featured. |
| Selection Banner | You choose a Mythic to place in the center of the gacha. Pick King Footballer, then keep summoning until he appears. |

Add to Google Preferences →Evolution materials for King Footballer (Devour)
Once King Footballer is in your inventory, talk to the Evolutions NPC, select the unit, and press the “Evolve!” button after you have every item below. The evolution turns him into King Footballer (Devour) and opens up his full passive set.

| Material | Amount | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Universal Fragment | 4 | Merchant / Virtual Merchant, Challenge maps, Legend Stage Acts |
| Petal Fragment | 6 | Merchant / Virtual Merchant, Challenge maps, Legend Stage Acts |
| Burning Fragment | 12 | Merchant / Virtual Merchant, Challenge maps, Legend Stage Acts |
| Football | 10 | Universal Football Event, Act 1 (guaranteed clear reward) |
| Devourer’s Crown | 1 | Universal Football Event, Act 1 (25% drop, 4 pity) |
| Gold | 25,000 | Earned from clearing stages |
The three fragment types are the easy part, since you can buy them from the Virtual Merchant and the Merchant or farm them by running Challenge maps and Legend Stage Acts. The Football items and the Devourer’s Crown are locked behind Act 1 of the Universal Football Event. Footballs come as guaranteed clear rewards, so ten of them stack up quickly. The Devourer’s Crown is the gate, with a 25% drop chance and a 4-clear pity, meaning a guaranteed Crown by your fourth Act 1 completion.
How King Footballer (Devour) works
Every passive on the Devour form pushes toward raw damage. His Critical Rate is fixed at 0%, so crit lines do nothing for him. Instead, he scales through Hunger, Ball control, and specific Relic stats. Note the reversed logic here. King Footballer wants the Ball withheld from him early, because starvation is what powers his output.

Devour
- Every Pass not sent to King Footballer (Devour) gives him +10% Hunger and +35% Damage until he receives the Ball.
- When the Ball is finally passed to him, the Passer takes -30% Damage for 10 seconds.
- That debuffed Damage is added to King Footballer for 10 seconds.
Villain On the Pitch
- A Hunger charge that rises by +1% per second.
- At 100% Hunger, he enters Rage Mode for 30 seconds, forcibly stealing the Ball and dealing 2x Damage to all enemies.
- Any attempted Debuff on him is inverted into a Buff.
- While in Rage, each attack applies -15% Damage for 30 seconds to a random ally in range.
I Am The King
- Critical Rate stays locked at 0%.
- For every 1% Effect Resistance and Hyper Armor Damage from Relics, he gains +2% Damage.
That last passive decides his build. Because crit is dead weight, prioritize Relics that supply Effect Resistance and Hyper Armor Damage, and steer stat rolls toward Damage rather than Critical lines.
Predator Eyes (Active Ability)
- Unlocked on the unit’s final upgrade.
- He waits until two allies Pass to each other, then steals the Ball and lands a Follow-up Attack for 400% Damage.
- Global Cooldown of 200 seconds.
King Footballer stats and deployment
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Mythic |
| Debut | Update 4.25 |
| Spawn cost | 2,000 Yen |
| Type | Ground |
| Element | Fire |
| Evolved form | King Footballer (Devour) |
You will know the evolution landed when the unit’s name updates to King Footballer (Devour) in your inventory and the Predator Eyes active becomes available at final upgrade in a match. If the “Evolve!” button stays greyed out, you are short on one of the fragments, the ten Footballs, the Devourer’s Crown, or the 25,000 Gold. Since all of his damage runs through Hunger and Ball denial rather than crits, keep his Relic and stat priorities on Damage, Effect Resistance, and Hyper Armor Damage to get the most out of the finished unit.
