The Division 2 Dust Storm: How to Get Every Personal Milestone Reward

Every Storm Key threshold from 10 to 200 keys, plus the fastest way to bank them before the event closes.

Every Storm Key threshold from 10 to 200 keys, plus the fastest way to bank them before the event closes.

The Personal Milestone track in The Division 2 Dust Storm event pays out ten rewards based purely on how many Storm Keys you personally collect. Every key you earn counts toward this track at the same time it feeds the shared community goals, so there is no split grind. Hit each threshold and the matching item drops into your inventory automatically. The event runs through August 11, 2026, which is your window to clear all ten tiers.

Quick answer: Reach Level 40, finish the Warlords of New York campaign once, then farm Storm Keys from Dust Devil Kill Squads and bosses in New York. Collecting 10, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 125, 150, 175, and 200 keys unlocks each Personal Milestone reward in order.

All Personal Milestone rewards and key thresholds

The track has ten steps. Each reward unlocks the moment your personal key count passes its number, and you keep everything you earn along the way. The two standout drops are the St Elmo’s Engine Exotic Weapon at 20 keys and the Prototype Event Weapon at 100 keys, with the rest split between arm patches and named or skin rewards.

Storm KeysReward
10Scorpion Arm Patch
20St Elmo’s Engine Exotic Weapon
40Howl Arm Patch
60Lexington Named Weapon
80Cactus Arm Patch
100Prototype Event Weapon
125Rattler Arm Patch
150Scarab Lexington Skin
175Howdy Arm Patch
200St Elmo’s Engine Red Alert Weapon Skin

You reach the full set at 200 keys, which caps out with the St Elmo’s Engine Red Alert Weapon Skin. Every key spent at the Event Vendor still counts here first, so buying caches does not cost you milestone progress.

Requirements before you can earn keys

The Dust Storm event is open to everyone, but the key-earning loop only unlocks once you meet two conditions. The action happens entirely in New York, so Washington, D.C. has nothing tied to the milestone grind.

Warlords of New York is free for the duration of the event, so you do not need to own the expansion to take part. Simply logging in during the window grants the free Parched Mask, separate from the milestone track. Full patch details sit on the official Dust Storm event page.

How to earn Storm Keys

Storm Keys are the event currency, and Dust Devil Kill Squads are the steady, repeatable source. A squad of four named enemies spawns every six minutes and hunts you across the map. Keys from these squads are guaranteed, but the number of kills you need per key changes with difficulty. Higher difficulty means fewer kills per key.

DifficultyKills per Storm Key
Normal14
Hard14
Challenging12
Heroic10

There is a daily boost worth clearing first. Your first 150 kills after each daily reset need only half the usual enemies per key. On Heroic, that works out to one key for every five kills across those first 150 kills, after which the rate returns to normal. Because this boost resets every day, logging in daily is the fastest way to build a stockpile toward the 200-key cap.

Bosses add extra guaranteed keys on top of squad drops. Clear 50 Dust Devil enemies and one of two bosses spawns regardless of the current weather. Pall fights as a sniper using Sniper Turret and Decoy tech and stays invisible to Pulse scanning, while Black Lung is a tank with an LMG and Artillery Turret support. Both drop a Storm Key on every kill, and your first defeat of each also grants a unique mask.

A third target, the Scoured Hunter, roams lower Manhattan after a Raging Dust Storm subsides. It carries Storm Keys and drops a distinctive mask when defeated. Twenty loot beacons scattered across New York can also drop loot and summon an extra Kill Squad, and Dust Devils repair them daily so you can trigger them again throughout the event.

Fight Dust Devils up close for faster kills

Dust Devils are built to punish players who stay at range, and their modifiers all reward aggression. The closer you fight, the more damage they take and the weaker their defenses become. Pushing into the 0 to 10 meter band strips their status resistance and lands the full damage bonus, which makes close-range weapons far more effective than long-range poking.

Your rangeEffect on the Dust Devil
0–10 metersTakes 50% more damage, no status resistance
11–25 metersTakes 20% more damage, deals 20% less to you
Beyond 26 meters80% status resistance, takes 50% less damage, deals 50% less

During a Raging Dust Storm the squads spawn continuously on a short cooldown, with up to six active at once, so you can clear as many as 48 enemies in a single Raging Storm. Spawns pause while you stand still, so keep moving to keep kills flowing. This phase is the most efficient time to burn through your daily boosted kills.

How to confirm a milestone unlocked

Each Personal Milestone reward is tied to your running key total, not to keys currently held, so spending keys at the Event Vendor in Haven does not roll back your progress. When your count crosses a threshold, the matching reward is granted and appears in your inventory. If a reward has not shown up, check that your total has actually passed the number rather than just approaching it, since the track only pays out at each listed value.

The Personal Milestone track runs alongside the shared Community Challenge, which unlocks the Pall Jacket, Boots, and Pants at 1M, 5M, and 10M community keys. Keep clearing your daily boosted kills, chase Pall, Black Lung, and the Scoured Hunter whenever they appear, and all ten personal rewards will stack up well before the storm clears on August 11.
