Radiant Gems are the fuel for Awakening, the endgame power system Palworld added in the 1.0 update. They only exist inside the World Tree, the towering endgame region, and they come in nine elemental flavors. The one rule that runs the entire farm is simple: the gem that drops matches the element of the Pal you defeat or capture. Want a Fire Radiant Gem, fight a Fire Pal. Need Dragon, hunt a Dragon Pal.
Quick answer: Reach the World Tree, then defeat or catch high-level Pals (Alphas are best) of the exact element you need. Each Awakening Crystal costs 50 Radiant Gems of one element plus 10 World Tree Holy Water and 30,000 Gold at the Ancient Workbench.

The nine Radiant Gem types
There is a separate Radiant Gem for every element in the game, and Awakening always demands the matching one. An Electric Radiant Gem will never craft a Fire Awakening Crystal. Before you start a run, decide which Pal you plan to Awaken and lock in that element.

None of this is reachable early. Radiant Gems live entirely inside the World Tree, and getting in takes real endgame progress. You need to defeat every Tower Boss across Palpagos, Feybreak, and Sunreach, then finish the Panthalus questline that opens once the towers are cleared. That questline ends with you catching Panthalus and using it to cross the barrier into the World Tree.
Expect Level 75+ enemies inside, so arrive at or near the Level 80 cap with strong gear. This is the same region that holds Paloxite and the Ancient Civilization Relic, so a gem run doubles as an endgame material run.
The fastest way to farm Radiant Gems
Once you are inside, skip the low-level Pals. Higher-level targets have better odds at dropping a gem in the first place, and Alpha Pals are the most efficient targets of all, the same way Alphas are the go-to for rare drops elsewhere. Drop rates for Radiant Gems have not been officially published, so treat Alphas as the smart bet rather than a fixed number.
Note: A handful of Pals appear to drop the wrong element right now. Some non-Electric Pals have been dropping Electric Radiant Gems, and Grass gems in particular are scarce, so a strict element hunt can behave oddly for those two types until it is patched.
Best Pals to farm for each gem element
These Pals in the World Tree are reliable sources for their element’s gem. The Level 80 Ground Pals are especially generous, with Anubis, Warsect, and Sekhmet handing over 10 to 20 Ground Radiant Gems on a guaranteed drop.
| Gem | Reliable Pals to hunt |
|---|---|
| Fire | Blazehowl, Suzaku, Pyrin, Faleris, Blazamut, Ragnahawk, Moldron, Renjishi, Blazehowl Noct, Pyrin Noct, Chillet Ignis |

Gear up for the World Tree before you farm
The World Tree is hostile terrain. Large stretches are a toxic corrosive-mist zone, and if you walk in without the Corrosive Mist Mask (also referred to as the Gas Mask helmet) equipped, your health drains the whole time you are there. Craft one and keep it on before you start hunting.
Teafant Spring statues are scattered through the region. Touching one restores your health and your active Pal’s health on the spot, which is what makes long farming loops sustainable instead of a slow bleed back to base. Build your route around a chain of these springs. Carry Holy Water too, since the region’s other exclusive materials only appear when you apply it, so a gem run can bank Paloxite and Mythical Wood at the same time.
Other sources of Radiant Gems
Defeating Pals is the backbone, but a few side channels top up your stock while you are already in the region.
| Source | How it works |
|---|---|
| World Tree Pals | Defeat or capture a Pal for a gem matching its element. The main and most reliable method. |
| Treasure chests | Gems appear rarely inside World Tree chests as you explore. |
| Fishing | An occasional pull inside the World Tree can yield a gem. |
| World Tree expeditions | Sending Pals on expeditions can return Radiant Gems, though less predictably. |
| Ancient Relic Recycler | Recycle Ancient Relics with World Tree Holy Water for a slim chance (around 1.1%) at a gem per recycle. |
Turn gems into an Awakening Crystal
Raw gems do nothing on their own. To Awaken a Pal, you process the gems into an element-matched Awakening Crystal at the Ancient Workbench. The recipe is steep, which is exactly why the high-level and Alpha farm matters.
| Craft | Cost |
|---|---|
| 1 Awakening Crystal (single element) | 50 Radiant Gems of that element + 10 World Tree Holy Water + 30,000 Gold Coin |
Once the crystal is made, open your inventory, select it, and use it on a Pal of the same element. The Pal gains a permanent overall stat boost, roughly in the 7 to 10 percent range, plus a golden glow on its body and its level number in the Party tab. You can confirm it worked by opening the Pal’s status screen, where 1.0 now shows the exact bonus values granted by Awakening alongside Soul bonuses.
Mistakes that waste your farming time
The most common slip is farming the wrong element. Awakening needs the element-specific gem, so killing Water Pals for a Ground project just fills your bag with the wrong color. There is no generic Radiant Gem that substitutes into a recipe.
- Do not Awaken a work-in-progress Pal. Finish its breeding, passives, and IVs first, because Awakening multiplies what a Pal already is, and gems spent on a Pal you later replace are gems wasted.
- Do not lean on the Ancient Relic Recycler as your main supply. Its low per-recycle chance makes it painfully slow for a 50-gem recipe. Treat it as a bonus.
- Do not hunt for a vendor. Radiant Gems are drop-only, with no shop path and no currency purchase.
- Do not expect a gem from every kill. It is a chance roll, so keep looping rather than fixating on one unlucky fight.
Pick your element, gear up for the corrosive mist, and chain your route through the Teafant Springs. Every high-level Pal you drop is a step toward one specific carry, and once you have 50 gems banked, a single trip to the Ancient Workbench turns that grind into a permanently stronger Pal.
