Springfield is coming back to Fortnite, this time as a Reload map. Epic Games has confirmed that The Simpsons returns in the v41.30 update, bringing the same town layout players explored during the 2025 mini-season into the faster, 40-player Reload mode.
Quick answer: The Simpsons Reload map goes live on Thursday, July 30, 2026, alongside the v41.30 update. Server downtime is expected to begin at 4AM PT / 7AM ET, and the map becomes playable once maintenance ends.

Release status: Confirmed for July 30, 2026
Epic has locked in the date. The Simpsons Reload map arrives with the v41.30 patch on Thursday, July 30. Because it ships with a numbered update, the game goes into scheduled downtime first, then the new content unlocks when servers come back online.
Downtime is expected to start at 4AM PT / 7AM ET. The exact moment you can drop into Springfield depends on how long maintenance runs, which can vary from one patch to the next.

Why Springfield is landing in Reload, not Battle Royale
The original Simpsons mini-season ran from November 1 to 29, 2025, and dropped the whole town of Springfield onto the island. It was compact even for that season’s reduced 80-player count, with players packed tightly around spots like the Nuclear Power Plant, the town square, and Evergreen Terrace.
Reload puts 40 players on a smaller map with respawns, so squadmates keep coming back as long as one member survives. That smaller format fits Springfield’s tight layout far better than the full Battle Royale mode did the first time around.
What’s expected in the Simpsons Reload update
The return looks like more than just the map. Alongside the Springfield layout, the Simpsons-themed weapons from the mini-season are set to join the Reload loot pool. Several additions have surfaced through dataminers ahead of the launch.
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Cel-shaded Tactical AR | Leaked |
| Victory Umbrella | Leaked |
| Map Mastery quests | Leaked |
| The Simpsons Sprite | Rumored, unconfirmed |
| New John Wick skin style | Teased by Epic |
Note: The Simpsons Sprite comes from code spotted by leakers and has not been officially confirmed. Treat it as a possibility rather than a certainty until Epic shows it.
Full reveal lands July 29
Epic plans to fully reveal the mode on July 29, the day before launch. That reveal should confirm the map, the weapons, the rewards, and whether the rumored Sprite is actually in. The teaser trailer already shows the Duff Blimp Battle Bus flying over Springfield, which points to the map returning largely unchanged from its 2025 debut.
How to confirm the map is live
You’ll know the update has arrived once downtime ends and the client prompts you to install v41.30. After patching, Springfield appears as a selectable map in the Reload rotation. If you still see the previous Reload maps only, the update either hasn’t finished rolling out or your client hasn’t updated yet.
The most common reason the map doesn’t show up is jumping in before maintenance is complete. Give the servers time past the 4AM PT downtime start, restart the client to force the patch, and check the Reload mode select screen again.
