Cube Sprites are the newest special Sprite variant in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, added through the July 23 hotfix during New Sprite Day. Inspired by Kevin the Cube, they carry a shimmery purple corruption and drop across the Battle Royale island. There are eight of them, and every one shares the same signature effect on top of its underlying Sprite power.

The Cube Sprite Overdrive effect
Cube is a variant layer placed on top of an existing Sprite. The base type still controls the main named power, while the Cube treatment adds one shared bonus. That bonus applies an Overdrive state whenever you are caught inside the Storm, and it switches off the moment you reach the safe zone.
The effect works much like the Striker Sprite. You sprint faster and leap higher for a short window, which makes escaping the closing circle, rotating through dangerous ground, and extracting Sprites in the Storm far safer. Because most players avoid spending time in the Storm, Cube Sprite users can travel edge routes with less pressure.

Where to find every Cube Sprite
Cube Sprites come from loot containers, mainly rare Chests and Sprite Chests. Like other special variants, they show up far less often than base Sprites, so knowing which named areas to hit saves time. Some also come from bosses rather than chests.

The Sprite Locator item narrows your search toward rarer spawns, though the drop still leans heavily on luck. Remember that carrying a Cube Sprite is not the same as owning it. You have to survive and complete extraction, or win the match, before it saves to your locker.
How to find Cube Sprites faster
Cube variants are expected to be among the rarest Sprites in the game right now, so raw chest hunting can be slow. The fastest way to fill gaps is the Shiny Hours event on July 25, 2026, running at 2 PM ET and 9 PM ET. This rerun of the earlier Shiny Hours boosts the spawn rate of all special Sprite variants, and that includes the freshly added Cube set.
You will know a pickup is genuinely a Cube variant when the item name reads as “Cube” plus its type, such as Cube Batman or Cube Earth, and the collection lists it under Cube rather than Base or another variant. Confirm the name in the pickup view before you commit matches to hunting one down, since a purple model alone is not enough to identify it.
