Xenogard is one of the standout Dragon-type Pals in Palworld 1.0, a rare Epic catch that many players walk past without realizing what it does. It carries the “Planet-Devouring Dragon” title, sits at No.146 in the Paldeck, and pairs a strong stat spread with a rideable partner skill that boosts energy weapon damage.

Quick answer: Xenogard is an Epic Dragon-type Pal (No.146). It can be ridden, raises your energy weapon damage by 10–35% while in your party, works at Mining Lv 4, and drops Meteorite Fragment and High Quality Pal Oil at a 100% rate when defeated.

What Xenogard is and why it counts as rare

Xenogard is a single-element Dragon Pal with an Epic rarity grade of 9. In the world’s fiction, it consumes information and turns it into raw energy, regularly transmitting data to an unknown recipient. That flavor lines up with its combat identity as a high-damage caster that leans on draconic and energy attacks.

Its rarity is the main reason it slips past players. It is not a common overworld spawn you stumble into early, so if you are not specifically hunting Dragon Pals in the right area, you can finish large stretches of the game without ever registering it exists.

Xenogard base stats

Xenogard’s numbers favor ranged pressure and durability. Shot Attack outpaces Melee Attack, and its Defense is high for a Dragon caster, which lets it trade hits while landing skills from a distance.

Partner skill and passive

Xenogard’s partner skill, Unknown Intruder, makes it rideable and increases the player’s energy weapon damage by 10–35% while it is in your party. The effect does not stack, so running more than one Xenogard gives you no extra bonus.

Its built-in passive, Otherworldly Cells (Rank 1), grants Attack +10% along with 15% Fire damage reduction and 15% Lightning damage reduction. That mix keeps it useful against fire and electric threats while adding a flat damage boost.

All Xenogard active skills

Xenogard learns a full spread of Dragon-element attacks plus a couple of off-element options. Its highest hitter, Dragon Meteor, unlocks at Lv 70 and lands for 600 power on a 30-second cooldown.

Note: Beam Slicer adds a delayed explosion in the area it strikes, so it rewards you for hitting grouped enemies. Comet Strike and Dragon Meteor both drop meteorites, which fits the drop table below.

Drops and work suitability

Defeating or catching Xenogard yields guaranteed materials. Both drops appear at a 100% rate, which makes it a reliable source of Meteorite Fragment for crafting.

At your base, Xenogard is suited to Mining at Lv 4, so it pulls double duty as a combat mount and a worker for ore and stone production.

How to add Xenogard to your team

Gear up before the fight. Xenogard is a durable Dragon caster with strong ranged output, so bring high-tier spheres and healing before engaging it.
Exploit its elements. It only reduces Fire and Lightning damage, so leaning on other damage types keeps the capture window open longer.
Wear down its HP, then throw spheres once the capture gauge is favorable. A successful catch adds Xenogard to your Paldeck as entry No.146.

You know it worked when Xenogard appears in your party or Palbox with the Unknown Intruder partner skill listed. Summon it, mount up, and equip an energy weapon to confirm the 10–35% damage bonus is active in your loadout.

Once it is in rotation, Xenogard earns its keep two ways. It carries you through fights as a rideable Dragon with a deep skill list, and it quietly stockpiles Meteorite Fragment and mined resources between battles, which is exactly the kind of value a rare Pal like this delivers when you finally slot it in.
