Anime Squadron: How to Solo the Garou Challenge

The units, codes, and testing order that give a single-player run its best shot at the new One Punch Man boss stage.

The units, codes, and testing order that give a single-player run its best shot at the new One Punch Man boss stage.

The Garou Challenge is the boss stage players are chasing after Anime Squadron moved into its One Punch Man content. Clearing it solo comes down to three things done in order, which are claiming what codes you can, locking in a carry the challenge is balanced around, and testing your damage before you spend any rare rerolls chasing a perfect team.

Quick answer: Bring a leveled Berserker as your core carry, add Garu (Half Monster) and Baras for boss damage, claim your codes first, then run the stage once to see whether it fails early or late before changing anything.

What the Garou Challenge is

Garou Challenge is the search term players use for the new One Punch Man boss content that arrived with the Update 0.75 wave, though the live game has since moved to UPD 1.0. You will also see the same content written as the Boros Event or Borus Event, and the boss unit itself appears in tier coverage as Garu (Half Monster) rather than the Garou spelling from video titles. They point at the same fight, so do not treat them as separate stages.

The exact in-game stage name, the full reward table, and the drop rates are not confirmed. Treat any specific route name or percentage you see in a clip as a claim to verify inside the game, not a settled fact.

Units to bring for a solo run

Berserker is flagged as mandatory for the two new event stages, so an older Berserker investment still matters here even after newer units arrived. Build your solo shell around it rather than replacing it. Garu (Half Monster), Baras, and Baras Meteoric Burst sit in the top boss-killer conversation for this content, which makes them the natural damage additions to test.

UnitRole in the run
BerserkerCore carry the two new stages are balanced around; keep it leveled first.
Garu (Half Monster)Top-tier boss-killer for the fight; test its boss damage before committing rerolls.
Baras / Baras Meteoric BurstAlternate boss-killer options in the same tier bracket.
GometaReliable secondary carry to fill out the team shell.

Support and filler slots such as Shanron, Shinks, Skeleton Knight, Fastwagon, and Falcon are worth rotating in around your fail point rather than all at once. A single filmed team is a strategy example, not proof that the same roster clears on your account.

Claim codes before you spend anything

Redeem codes first so a failed attempt does not turn into a panic reroll. Current code strings tied to this update include the following, though trackers disagree on exact rewards, so confirm what each one gives inside the game.

  • EventChanges
  • UPD0.75!
  • TheHeroHunter!
  • SryForLongMaintenance!!
  • StrongestChallenger!

Codes are entered in the game itself, which you can open from the official Anime Squadron Roblox page. Whether EventChanges is officially confirmed in the game’s Discord is still unsettled, so redeem it but do not build your resource plan around a reward you have not seen land.

How to test the run before rerolling

Claim your codes and level Berserker to a usable state. This protects your existing investment and gives the run a carry the stage expects.
Run the challenge once with Berserker plus Garu or Baras and watch where it breaks. Note whether the team stalls in the early waves or only struggles at the boss.
If the run fails early, fix wave control and your economy rather than your boss damage. Weak clearing on the opening waves means your setup and spending order need work, not your carry.
If the run fails late, test boss damage, debuffs, gear, and survival before you swap the whole team. Rotate in one support at a time so you can tell which change actually moved the result.
Only spend rare rerolls, cubes, or event resources once a single change has clearly closed the gap. Testing first stops you from burning materials on a team you have not confirmed can finish.

How to know the run worked

A solo clear is confirmed by the stage completing with the boss defeated and the challenge reward screen appearing. Until you see that end screen, treat the attempt as a test rather than a win, and keep a record of what stopped you so the next run targets the real weak point.

Note: leaving-event claims should be treated as rumors unless the in-game interface or an official channel shows an end date. Do not rush a spending decision because a clip says the content is about to disappear.
