Your bloodline decides how you fight in Shindo Life, from the combos you can chain in a duel to how fast you shred bosses while farming. With more than 170 options in the pool, most are usable in skilled hands, but a smaller group stands out for higher damage, stronger counters, and easier consistency. The rankings below split PvP and PvE because a bloodline that dominates arena fights does not always excel at clearing waves.
Quick answer: For PvP, prioritize Code-Gaiden, Kamaki Akuma/Inferno, Ashura-Shizen, Getsuga, Indra-Akuma, or any Jokei variant. For PvE, roll toward Apollo Sand, Shado, Mud, Shindai variants, or Xeno Dokei to farm bosses quickly.
How these rankings were decided
Placements weigh raw damage alongside combo potential, counter reliability, mobility, sustain, and how each bloodline handles specific situations. PvP rewards stuns, block breaks, mode uptime, and outplay tools. PvE rewards moves that cover a boss hitbox for big damage and transformation modes that speed up farming. Bloodlines outside the S and A tiers are still playable, but something above them usually does the same job better.
Note: This reflects the July 2026 meta after Update 248. The game shifts with Sunday patches, so recheck rankings after any balance change or new bloodline release.

Best PvP bloodlines and why they rank high
PvP standouts share a common thread. They pressure opponents with reliable counters, hard-to-dodge damage, and mode uptime that either shrugs off incoming hits or opens free combos. The picks below are the ones worth chasing if arena fights are your focus.
| Bloodline | Why it stands out in PvP |
|---|---|
![]() Code-Gaiden | Controls where your opponent stands with traps that teleport them into your combos and mess up their cooldowns. Not the highest raw damage, but one of the most oppressive kits to fight against. |
![]() Kamaki Akuma/Inferno | Both variants counter hard through heavy damage reflection, plus rushdown moves for offense and strong damage reduction in final form. The first form’s AoE combo starter is excellent. |
![]() Ashura-Shizen | The Buddha statue form gives big damage reduction, paired with tracking ranged moves that stun and drain chi. A balanced mix of offense, defense, and utility. |
![]() Getsuga | The grab is a standout move, and the Rasensuga adds mobility, guard breaks, and chi steal. Mode grants heavy damage reduction, making it a full PvP package. |
![]() Indra-Akuma | Susano gives major damage reduction while you throw out high-damage moves and stuns. The second move is a reliable combo tool. |
![]() Jokei (+All Variants) | The Kaiten rotation grants constant iFrames and stun-lock damage. Every variant has one of the best modes for PvP plus chi steal. Light and Dark Jokei get an instant block break, and Arahaki Jokei has the longest range. |
![]() Raion-Gaiden | The dragon black flames are unblockable, hard to dodge, and drain stamina. Add crowd control on the second move and a strong guard break on the third. |
![]() Rykan-Shizen | Spam high-damage moves at long range, then play aggressively around your golem. The strongest variant for PvP. |
![]() Aizden | Some of the highest damage in the game with a touch of powercreep. It isn’t auto-win since moves don’t chain on their own, but the dragon gives great mobility and an escape option. |
![]() Ray/Sean-Kerada | The boulder roll is oppressive with high mobility, guard breaks, and stun-locks, forcing opponents to back off and adapt. |
![]() Borumaki-Shiki | A strong mode and one of the easiest counters to land, backed by top-tier PvP damage. |
![]() Strange | High damage and stuns backed by heavy sustain. The HP rewind in mode can negate crucial enemy moves, and there’s a block breaker plus stamina drain against Taijutsu users. |
![]() Raiden-Saberu | High-damage moves paired with a strong mode, plus a counter that leads into a free air combo. |
![]() Tetsuo-Kaijin | A unique ranged counter pulls enemies in, letting you extend with melee moves. |
![]() Doku Tengoku | One of the best combo starters in the game for stun-locking. |
![]() Minakaze | The third move is an instant teleporting combo starter, and the mode is tough to fight thanks to constant teleports, mobility, and stun potential. |
![]() Powder | No mode, but a strong element-based support kit. The third move is a free combo starter, and the cloud lets you crowd control while charging chi. |
![]() SnakeMan | Fast long-range attacks with excellent damage and some block break. A well-rounded kit with an answer to most situations. |
![]() Headless | Pulling traps and invisible flame traps set up combos, and the mode counter punishes baited opponents. Different from other meta kits and rewards practice. |
A-tier PvP picks are still competitive but tend to demand a more focused playstyle, such as the Taijutsu-heavy Kenichi variants. Reach for them when you don’t have an S-tier equivalent.
Best PvE bloodlines for boss farming
PvE rewards moves that blanket a boss hitbox for big damage and modes that speed up kills. Several of these rely on positioning tricks, like hitting from a wall or double-jumping so a move sweeps across the target. A few double as excellent beginner picks because they are easy to land.
| Bloodline | Why it stands out in PvE |
|---|---|
![]() Apollo Sand | Likely the best moveset for farming large bosses thanks to the third move, with heavy damage against easy-to-hit enemies. |
![]() Shado | Works on all boss types and nukes them while in mode if you kite properly. |
![]() Mud | Underrated. Double-jump so the first move sweeps across a boss hitbox for massive damage on a low cooldown. Great for beginners. |
![]() Shindai Variants | Tons of boss damage through clones and M2s. |
![]() Xeno Dokei | One of the best transformation modes for boss hunting thanks to strong M1s. |
![]() Shiver Akuma | Spam the form 4 Q spec to annihilate smaller bosses. |
![]() Ice | Use the third move from the side of a wall while looking down at the boss for a hitbox exploit that deals heavy damage. A great beginner PvE bloodline. |
![]() Emerald and Crystal | Similar to Ice. Position on the ground or a wall to cover as much of the boss hitbox as possible with each move. |
![]() Lava | A strong AoE option that needs more kiting than other S-tiers. Maneuver bosses to stand in your AoE zones. |
A-tier PvE bloodlines usually earn their spot by dealing high single-move boss damage or being strong against bosses through their transformation modes. They clear content comfortably even if they lack the flexibility of the S-tier picks.
Fastest ways to level any bloodline
Once you have a bloodline worth keeping, leveling it quickly matters more than chasing the next roll. These methods stack passive and active experience.
- Autoclick AFK at the Training Log for hands-off progress.
- Farm the Green and Orange Scroll quests for steady experience.
- Grind War Mode, ideally with friends to clear waves faster.
- Activate your bloodline’s mode when available for easier fights and passive experience per second.
Reroll strategy and what to keep
Bloodlines come from spins, and rare picks like the 1/300 and higher rolls can eat through thousands of spins. Save spins from codes and daily rewards before committing to a big reroll session. A practical target is anything A-tier or above. Chasing only S-tier wastes spins when a strong A-tier can carry you through most content.
Skill matters as much as tier. A mechanically complex S-tier bloodline can underperform if you haven’t learned its timings, while a simpler A-tier you execute cleanly may serve you better. Watch how a kit is actually played before spinning for it, and pair your element and sub-ability choices to match, since strong supporting picks can lift a lower-tier bloodline above a poorly built S-tier.
Because the meta moves with each Sunday update, treat this ranking as a July 2026 snapshot. If a balance patch or new bloodline drops, verify the current state in-game before spending a large stack of spins on a single target.
