Reach 80% completion in the Summer Collection to claim the Mythical Red Beach Shovel before the Summer Event ends.

Reach 80% completion in the Summer Collection to claim the Mythical Red Beach Shovel before the Summer Event ends.

The Red Beach Shovel is a Mythical cosmetic reward tied to the Summer Event 2026 in Grow a Garden. It is the third shovel skin added to the game, following the Rainbow Shovel and the Campfire Shovel, and the second one released during this year’s Summer Event after the Summer Shovel from the Beach Bundle. You claim it by reaching 80% completion in the Summer Collection before the event closes.

Quick answer: Discover 45 items across the Summer Collection’s Seeds, Pets, and Cosmetics categories to hit 80%, then claim the Red Beach Shovel from the collection board located behind the Summer Shop.

What the Red Beach Shovel does

Like every shovel in Grow a Garden, the Red Beach Shovel exists to permanently remove unwanted plants from your base. It does not grant passive boosts, mutations, stat bonuses, or any special perks. It is purely a cosmetic skin that marks how far you got through the Summer Event, so treat it as a collectible rather than a gameplay upgrade.

The 80% requirement explained

The Summer Collection is split into three categories: Seeds, Pets, and Cosmetics. Reaching 80% completion means you must collect and discover a total of 45 items across those three groups. Items count once they are discovered, so anything you obtain, hatch, or place toward the collection pushes your percentage higher.

Claim the Red Beach Shovel

Work through the Summer Collection categories until you have discovered 45 items. You can mix and match across Seeds, Pets, and Cosmetics, since the game counts your total discovered items toward the 80% threshold.
Head to the Summer Collection display, which sits behind the Summer Shop. Interact with the collection board to open the menu and track exactly how close you are to 45 items.
Once the board shows 45 discovered items and 80% completion, claim the Red Beach Shovel directly from the Summer Collection rewards. The shovel then appears in your inventory as an equippable skin.

Note: The Summer Event 2026 has been running for four weeks and is winding down, so finish the collection while it is still live. Once the event closes, the reward window for the Red Beach Shovel goes with it.

If the shovel does not appear after you hit the requirement, confirm that the collection board reads 45 items and 80% rather than a lower total. Discovered items only count once they register in the Summer Collection menu, so any seed, pet, or cosmetic you own but have not yet added will keep you short of the mark.
