The Avengers are back on defense in Marvel Rivals, and this time it is a co-op fight instead of a hero brawl. Avengers: Age of Ultron is the second chapter of the Path to Doomsday event, a player-versus-environment mode where a team pushes back Ultron and his Sentry army as they overrun Avengers Tower. It is limited-time content with its own challenge list, and clearing it hands out cosmetics you cannot get anywhere else, including a free Ultron skin.
Quick answer: Open the Playlist menu on the home screen, select Path to Doomsday: Avengers Age of Ultron in the Rivalry tab, choose Common or Hard difficulty, and queue. Clearing Hard difficulty once unlocks the free Ultron “Avengers: Age of Ultron” costume. All rewards must be claimed before the mode ends on August 27, 2026, at 9 AM UTC.
How to launch Avengers: Age of Ultron in Marvel Rivals
The mode was added in the final Season 9 update and sits alongside the other co-op playlists. Getting into a match takes only a few clicks.
Note: The mode runs on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. It is not available on PlayStation 4.
How long the mode is available
Avengers: Age of Ultron is a limited-time mode. It went live on July 30, 2026, at 9 AM UTC and closes on August 27, 2026, at 9 AM UTC, giving you a four-week window to work through the challenge list. Once that window ends, the mode and its rewards leave the game.
The mode invades Avengers Tower after Ultron corrupts Tony Stark’s assistant AI, F.R.I.D.A.Y., and fills the story with cinematics and newly recorded dialogue from the game’s voice cast. A trailer shows the Avengers clashing with Ultron and his drones ahead of launch.
Every playable hero and their reworked kit
Seven Avengers are on the roster, and each one carries a tweaked kit built for crowd control and survival against dense enemy waves. Ultron himself is a boss only and cannot be played here, since this is a co-op mode rather than the earlier villain-versus-heroes PvP event.

There is a single boss here, Ultron, but you face him twice across a run. The first encounter comes mid-stage, and the second closes out the finale. Between those fights, you clear waves of robotic Sentries in different forms.

All free rewards and how to unlock the Ultron skin
Rewards come from completing challenges tied to the mode, and the headline prize is the Ultron “Avengers: Age of Ultron” costume. To get it, you must beat the mode on Hard difficulty. Since Hard only opens after a Common clear, plan on at least two full runs to line up everything.

Tip: If you want every hero title as well, note that each one requires a Hard clear while playing that specific character. That means seven separate Hard runs to sweep the full title set, on top of the enemy-kill and wave milestones that fill in over time.
You do not need to rush. With the window open until August 27, there is plenty of room to grind kills, buy upgrades, and rotate through each Avenger. Just don’t leave the free Ultron skin sitting behind a Hard clear you never got around to before the mode disappears.
