Palworld: How to Get More Weapon and Food Slots

Craft Extra Weapon Holsters and Feed Bags through the Technology Tree to carry more guns and stock more food for auto-eating.

Craft Extra Weapon Holsters and Feed Bags through the Technology Tree to carry more guns and stock more food for auto-eating.

Running out of room for weapons or food is a common wall in Palworld once you start carrying muskets, bows, rocket launchers, and a stack of meals for hungry Pals. Both limits can be raised, but they are handled by two completely separate systems in the Technology Tree, and each one needs Technology Points plus a workbench to craft the right Key Item.

Quick answer: Craft the Extra Weapon Holster (level 27) and Extra Weapon Holster 2 (level 54) to raise your weapon slots from four to a maximum of six. For food, craft the five Feed Bag tiers from level 9 onward to add up to five food slots for auto-eating.

Unlock more weapon slots with Extra Weapon Holsters

You start with four weapon slots, which is enough to swap between a few firearms or ranged options on the fly. To reach the game’s cap of six, you need to unlock and craft both Extra Weapon Holsters. These are permanent Key Items, so once you make one it slots into your Key Items tab automatically and the extra weapon space appears on your character screen.

Reach level 27 and spend 5 Ancient Technology Points to unlock the Extra Weapon Holster in the Technology Tree. This is the first upgrade and adds your fifth weapon slot.
Gather the crafting materials and build it at the Production Assembly Line II. The first holster needs Leather x20, Fiber x30, and Wooden Board x20.
Continue to level 54, then spend another 5 Ancient Technology Points to unlock Extra Weapon Holster 2 for the sixth and final slot. This version is more expensive and calls for Leather x40, Fiber x100, Carbon Fiber x20, and High Quality Wooden Board x40.

You will know it worked when the locked weapon slot on your inventory screen opens up. From there, drag any weapon into the new slot to start using it. Both holsters can only be crafted at the Production Assembly Line II, so make sure that station is built before you farm the materials.

Note: Tools like the Fishing Rod and Metal Detector are treated as weapons in Palworld. Even though they are not combat gear, equipping them uses up one of your weapon slots, which is another reason the extra holsters are worth the investment in the late game.

Add food slots by crafting Feed Bags

Food slots work differently from weapon slots. A Feed Bag does not add general inventory space. Instead, it holds food that you and your Pals eat automatically when hunger drops during exploration, so you do not have to stop and manually feed everyone. There are five Feed Bag tiers, and each higher tier holds one more food item than the last.

You unlock each tier separately in the Technology Tree using Technology Points, then craft it. The Small Feed Bag is available very early at level 9, and the tiers scale up from there. The table below lists what each one gives you and when it becomes available.

Small Feed Bag191

Large Feed Bag3263
Huge Feed Bag4354
Giant Feed Bag5455

Here are the materials needed for each tier so you can prepare before unlocking them.

Huge Feed BagWood x30, Fiber x90, Leather x35, Carbon Fiber x10
Giant Feed BagWood x50, Fiber x200, Leather x50, Carbon Fiber x20

Because the higher tiers hold more food than the lower ones, the Giant Feed Bag with five slots is the goal for long trips away from base. If you are short on Technology Points, prioritize whichever tier your current level allows and upgrade as you climb.

Where to spend your Technology Points first

Both systems draw on your limited Technology Points, so it helps to plan. The Small Feed Bag costs just one point at level 9 and immediately reduces the busywork of feeding your team, making it an easy early pick. Weapon slots become more valuable once you own several weapons worth swapping between, which is why the first holster sits at level 27. If you carry the Fishing Rod or Metal Detector often, unlocking the holsters sooner frees up combat space that those tools would otherwise eat into.

Keep in mind the hard ceilings. Weapons top out at six slots even after both holsters, and Feed Bags stop at five food slots with the Giant tier. Once you have crafted everything, both upgrades stay active permanently and never take up regular inventory space.
