Fisch now lets you catch fish without ever casting a rod. The Harpoon Guns update, released August 1, 2026, adds a ranged fishing method built around roaming fish, direct aiming, and a fresh pull minigame. Instead of dropping a bobber and waiting for a bite, you spot a fish moving through the water, fire a harpoon into it, and then reel it in by hand.
Quick answer: Open the redesigned Equipment Bag, switch to the Harpoon Guns category, and equip one of the seven guns found across the map. Aim at a roaming fish, fire, then spam the Pull prompt until the minigame finishes to land the catch.
How harpoon fishing works in Fisch
Harpoon Guns are their own equipment type, separate from fishing rods and spears. They pair with the new roaming fish that swim visibly through the water, so the process starts with hunting rather than waiting. You look for a valid target, line up your shot, and fire.
Landing the shot does not hand you the fish right away. A hit only hooks the target, which opens the pull minigame. From there you press the Pull prompt quickly and keep responding until the sequence completes. Once the pulling finishes, the catch is added to your inventory.
The full loop is simple once you have done it once: find a roaming fish, aim, fire, hook it, complete the Pull minigame, and collect the catch. Treat the harpoon shot as the first half of the process, not the whole thing.
Note: each of the seven guns has its own stats and, in some cases, a passive effect, so they do not all perform the same even though they share the catching mechanic.

There is no single merchant selling every Harpoon Gun. The seven guns are scattered across the map, from Crystal Cove to the Cursed Isle, so collecting them all is partly an exploration task. Six are found or purchased at set locations, while one is crafted.

Reaching the right island does not always mean the gun is sitting in plain sight. Some purchase points are tucked beside structures, on elevated sections, or near docks and shorelines. New enchantments for Harpoon Guns and Spears
The update adds 10 Harpoon Gun enchantments and 10 Spear enchantments. You can mix them to build a setup that suits your playstyle. For now, Harpoon Guns can be enchanted using Enchant Relics and Cosmic Relics, so keep those on hand if you want to push a gun’s stats further.
Trident Striker Ritual and Poseidon’s Armory
The Trident Striker is not simply bought. A forgotten ritual has appeared inside Desolate Deep, and completing its challenge uncovers Poseidon’s hidden armory, which is where the Trident Striker lives. This ties one of the seven guns to exploration and puzzle-solving rather than a straightforward purchase, so expect to revisit Desolate Deep to unlock it.

A code launched alongside the update. Enter HarpoonGunsAreAwesome in-game to claim its reward. Codes can expire without warning, so redeem it soon rather than later.
