The Division 2 Into The Dark Scout 8 Walkthrough

Scout 8 is the Week 8 step of the Into The Dark Manhunt in The Division 2, and every part of it plays out in one place. Civilian safehouses in the East Mall district of Washington, DC are being overrun, and your job is to push back across three linked objectives. Everything can be done in a single trip to the district if you plan your route around the Control Points.

Quick answer: Complete one open-world Public Execution in East Mall, capture three Control Points in that same district, then finish two friendly activities (Hostage Rescue or Target Practice) that appear there.

The three objectives unlock in order, so you can only see the next one after clearing the current step. All of them are tied to the East Mall district, which keeps travel short if you fast-travel between captured points.

Objective 1: Complete a Public Execution in East Mall

The first objective needs one Public Execution activity, and it must be the one inside East Mall rather than any other district. When you arrive, a group of hostiles is preparing to kill two hostages, so speed and hostage survival both matter.

Travel to the East Mall district and locate the Public Execution marker on the map.

Clear the first wave of enemies fast, then keep the two hostages alive through the waves that follow. If one hostage dies, the activity can still be completed with the survivor.

Once every hostile is down, walk up to a surviving hostage and talk to them to close out the activity. The objective tracker updates to mark the Public Execution as done.

Objective 2: Capture three Control Points in East Mall

Next, you need to take over three Control Points, all within East Mall. The district has four to choose from, so you have a spare in case one is inconvenient to reach.

Metro Ruins
Sinkhole
Solar Farm
Crash Site

Reach a Control Point and fight the first wave of enemies. Fire a flare to signal your allies once the area is clear enough to hold.

A reinforcement call pulls the remaining hostiles inside the point out into the open, followed by extra waves arriving from nearby areas. Hold your ground while you defend the position.

Kill the final named enemies to seize the Control Point. Repeat the same process at two more of the four points to hit three captures.

Objective 3: Complete two friendly activities in East Mall

The final step asks for two friendly open-world activities, and both types you need show up in East Mall once the district swings in your favor. The two activities you can complete are:

Hostage Rescue
Target Practice

Friendly activities only surface on your map after you hold the district, so capturing the Control Points in the previous step is what makes them spawn here. Since you already took three in East Mall, expect these to appear in the same area. The Cleaning Up The Streets global modifier speeds this stage up considerably.

How to confirm Scout 8 is complete

Each objective marks itself as finished in the Manhunt tracker the moment its requirement is met, and the next objective only opens once the one before it is cleared. After the second friendly activity registers, the Scout 8 step reads as completed.

Once all three objectives are done, a voice recording plays to fill in what happened during this Scout run in East Mall. That audio log is your final sign that Week 8 is wrapped up and your rewards are secured.
