Rebirth is the fastest way to snowball your progress in Build a Base and Steal. Each reset wipes your money, pets, and purchased upgrades, but hands back a permanent Luck multiplier, a cash payout, more pet slots, extra defense blocks, and a new piece of gear. The catch is that every tier locks behind a rising money total and two specific pets you must have sitting in your base.
Quick answer: The current max is 16 Rebirths, and clearing all of them requires 29 different pets in total (including Fish pets and Golden-mutation pets) plus the money threshold shown at each tier. To rebirth, hold the required money and the required pets in your base, then press the Rebirth button on the left side of the screen.
What a Rebirth costs and what it gives back
Two requirements gate every Rebirth. The first is a money total that climbs steeply, from $50k at the start to $300T by Rebirth 12. The second is a pair of pets (a single pet on a few of the later tiers) that must physically be in your base at the moment you rebirth. Simply having indexed them is not enough.
On the reward side, the Luck multiplier stacks upward with each tier, and every Rebirth also grants +2 Max Pets and +3 Defense Blocks. Most tiers add a cash refund worth roughly ten percent of the requirement, plus one or two gear unlocks in the shop. Knowing the pet list in advance matters, because you do not want to reroll away a pet like Dragon or Golden Kitsune when it shows up on your Pet Roll.

Note: Golden Kitsune, Golden Unicorn, and Golden Dragon are Golden-mutation pets, so you need to roll or steal the mutated version rather than the base pet for Rebirths 13 and 14.
How to Rebirth in Build a Base and Steal
You will know it worked when your Money, Pets, and purchased Upgrades reset to zero and the Rebirth panel advances to the next tier’s requirements. If the button stays locked, you are either short on money or missing one of the required pets in your base.
What you keep and what you lose
A Rebirth clears your current base state, so all your Money, Pets, and Upgrades are gone the moment you confirm. What carries forward is permanent: the stacked Luck multiplier, the higher pet capacity from every +2 Max Pets bonus, the accumulated defense blocks, and any gear you have unlocked. That permanent Luck boost is the main reason to rebirth, since it speeds up how quickly you roll rare pets on the next run.
Because the reset is total, time your rebirths for the start of an active session. That way you can immediately reroll pets with your new Luck, rebuild your defenses, and reinvest the cash refund instead of logging off with an empty base.
