The Poachers is one of the Eleuthera-region assassin contracts in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and it hides a specific catch. You only get the full payout if you take out the poacher leader from a hiding spot rather than charging in and fighting through his crew.

Unlock assassin contracts first
Assassin contracts do not appear on your map until you have progressed the Overrun and Outnumbered main quest. James Kidd introduces the contract system once that quest is complete, after which markers for every contract, including The Poachers, populate your quest log and map.
If The Poachers is missing from your map, you have not reached that point in the story yet. Push through Overrun and Outnumbered, then check Eleuthera.
Complete the hiding-spot assassination
Note: If you kill the leader in open combat or from any position that is not a hiding spot, the main contract still completes, but you forfeit the 500-Reales bonus. Reload or retry if you want the full reward.
Rewards and how to confirm it worked
Every assassin contract pays 1,500 Reales for the kill, plus a 500-Reales bonus for the secondary challenge. Clearing The Poachers with the hiding-spot assassination therefore nets the full 2,000 Reales.
