Theostones are weapon engravings in Aion 2 that give your attacks a chance to trigger an extra effect, from burst elemental damage to crowd control like Stun, Seal, or Paralyze. Every stone has a set proc chance and a short activation cooldown, and the same effects carry into PvP, where control stones in particular shift fights. Collecting them is the slow part, because they come from a handful of specific activities rather than general drops.
Quick answer: Obtain Rare Theostone Chests from regional quests, Transcendence dungeons, Hidden Cubes, or the Abyssal Shop (35,000 Abyss Points), then press N, open the Theostone tab, pick an eligible weapon or Guard, and click Engrave for 10,000 Kina.

What Theostones do and what can hold them
Each Theostone adds a single passive effect that rolls a chance to fire whenever you attack. Damage stones hit on roughly a one-second internal cooldown, while control stones such as Blind, Stun, and Paralyze sit on a longer cooldown. The effects proc often enough that, in practice, they feel close to constant during sustained combat.
Only weapons and Guards carry an engraving slot, and higher-grade gear is what exposes it. Engraving two identical Theostones does nothing extra, since only one copy of the same effect applies at a time.
Theostones are mostly a late-game system, so plan to be around character level 45 before you can collect them in volume. A few regional quests hand them out earlier.

Farming supplies Rare Theostones only. Every chest reward is random, so you cannot target a specific stone directly. The main sources are spread across both PvE and PvP content.
- Regional quests: A Traitor Within, Restless Spirit, and Regular Altar Maintenance each award a Rare Theostone Chest on completion.
- Hidden Cubes: cubes scattered across the world can contain Theostones while you explore.
- Transcendence dungeons: clearing these can drop both Rare and Epic Theostones.
- Abyssal Shop: buy a Rare Theostone Chest for 35,000 Abyss Points.
Abyss Points flow fastest from PvP modes like Abyss, Arena, and Battlefield, but PvP is not mandatory. You can also accumulate them through Supply Requests, regional quests, and Seasonal Challenges, then spend them in the shop for chests.

How to equip a Theostone
Once a Theostone sits in your collection, slotting it is quick. Engraving takes place in the Enhancement menu and costs Kina per attempt.
You know it worked when the stone’s effect shows on the item in the Theostone tab and the engraving slot reads as filled. Enhancement level, Manastones, and the engraving all stay on the item when you upgrade gear or change class, so you do not lose a slotted stone during normal progression.

Combining Theostones for higher rarity
Theostones are available in three grades. A higher grade leaves the activation odds unchanged while increasing its effect: crowd control lasts longer, or each activation deals more damage. Farming provides Rare stones alone, so combining is the only way to reach a higher grade. A combination uses at least four Theostones, so keep duplicates and unwanted stones rather than discarding them.
| Upgrade | Input | Chance to upgrade |
|---|---|---|
| Rare to Epic | Rare Theostones | 11.1% |
| Epic to Unique | Epic Theostones | 9.1% |
Both steps are chance-based, so expect to feed in many combines before a Unique appears. Rare stones are the only grade that can be traded between players; Epic and Unique copies are bound.

Replacing or removing a Theostone
You can take an engraved Theostone off a weapon or Guard to make room for a different one. Removing it does not return the stone to your inventory.
A removed Theostone is destroyed. Be certain you want to swap before you pull the current stone, because you cannot recover it afterward.
