In Aion 2, your character’s overall rating is expressed as Combat Power, a figure that affects both group-content invites and your position on the rankings. It reflects development across nearly all progression systems, meaning a rare weapon alone is seldom enough to repair a low score. Focus resources on your most neglected systems for the quickest gains instead of scattering materials everywhere; real-money spending is unnecessary.
Quick answer: Raise CP by improving any stat-bearing system. Swap your weakest gear slot, enhance to the safe +10, fill your Arcana slots, allocate Stigma Shards, and open Daevanion nodes, then flip the CP toggle next to your item level to confirm the number rose.
Combat Power vs. item level in Aion 2
Item level and Combat Power measure different things. Your gear determines item level, which serves as an access check: certain Expedition and Transcendence stages require you to reach a specified minimum. Combat Power gives a broader picture, accounting for active and passive skills, Stigmas, Arcana, and pet Genus Insight in addition to factors item level leaves out. As a result, characters with identical item levels may have very different CP.
For tracked level 45 characters, higher profile item level generally goes hand in hand with more CP; Daevanion nodes unlocked, titles collected, and gear enhancement also correlate closely. As a rough estimate, each profile item-level point is worth about 45 Combat Power. Depending on class, the median level 45 character has 55,900–58,400 CP, while the top 10% begin at about 70,000.
The score leaves out cosmetic and consumable extras. Shop cosmetics, along with skins, pets, and wings from the Founder’s Pack, affect appearance only and offer no gameplay benefit. Potions and resurrection stones are not counted, either. Short-term buffs are ignored as well; a flask will not change your score.

Add to Google Preferences →Gear, enhancement, and socket upgrades
Gear accounts for most CP early in progression: each slot provides base stats and can receive several further upgrades. Equip every slot, replacing old weapons, armor, and accessories as better options become available. Main Episode and Regional quests supply much of your initial gear; after those rewards stop getting stronger, Expeditions are the primary source of Hero- and Unique-grade drops. Replacing a weapon with one at a higher item level can produce the biggest single increase, around 4,000 CP.
A piece’s base grade alone does not tell the whole story. Enhancement, inserted Manastones and Theostones, and Soul Binding all contribute, meaning a well-developed item may outperform a seemingly superior new one. Enhancement to +10 is guaranteed, so those levels require only Kinah and Enhance Stones. Attempts from +10 through +15 may fail and consume materials; reserve them for gear you plan to keep. Yellow/Unique gear has a +15 limit, followed by five Amplify levels. Orange/Heroic gear can reach +20 before its Amp levels.
For Manastones and Theostones, prioritize offensive attack stats and higher rarities, and check the market before buying since Lesser, Intermediate, and Superior stones carry very different prices. For PvE, Fire and Earth Theostones are the usual pick. Soul Binding lets you reroll accessory passives, and syncing gear carries best-in-slot stats forward.

Salvaging enhanced gear refunds the full stack of Enhance Stones you poured in, only costing the spent Kinah, and Transfer can carry Soul Binding effects and amplified enhance levels to a replacement piece up to six times. Materials spent on gear you later swap out are not wasted.
Guard accessories and where they rank
Guard accessories give some of the largest single CP jumps outside your weapon, so replacing an old one is worth doing early. The gap between a low-level Guard and a top one is wide, since a Guard’s Attack value climbs steeply with item level. Here is how a few Unique Guards line up by their main Attack stat.
| Guard | Item level | Attack | Required level |
|---|---|---|---|
| 102 | 210 | 45 | |
| 41 | 83 | 35 | |
| 41 | 83 | 35 | |
| 36 | 73 | 30 | |
| 36 | 73 | 30 | |
| 36 | 73 | 30 |
Ludra’s Heart carries Attack 210, the highest of all 83 Guard items in the game, a figure it shares with the Splendent Ebony Dragon Lord Guard and the Splendent Wise Dragon Lord Guard. It drops from Eternal Ludra and also comes from the Abyssal Forge weapon selection chest. It holds four Manastone slots, one Theostone slot, enchants to +15, and at +15 adds +174 Attack over its base. The level 41 Guards sit 14th highest on the list, and the level 36 Guards tie 18th, so each upgrade step up this ladder is a meaningful CP gain.
Skills and Stigmas
Since skill levels are invisible on your character model, they are easy to overlook, but active skills, passives, and Stigmas all increase CP. Put points into abilities used in your rotation instead of raising every skill equally. The main quest grants 203 Skill Points by level 45; Sealed Dungeons and Regional quests provide additional ones afterward. Ring passives also count: a ring that adds a skill level may remove a cooldown or turn a skill into AoE, substantially boosting damage.
The Gladiator’s Overhead Slam is a clear example of how much a skill level changes behaviour. It learns at required level 4, and at level 8 it gains HP absorption, turns into an AoE skill, and adds the Upward Strike chain; level 16 removes its cooldown entirely. Here is how the Gladiator’s core damage skills and the Spiritmaster’s opener scale.
| Skill | Required level | Cooldown | Damage at max level |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 5.0s | 3,744 (Lv 40) | |
| 7 | 10.0s | 3,568 (Lv 40) | |
| 22 | 45.0s | 4,205 (Lv 25) | |
| 1 | — | 1,111 (Lv 40) |
Stigmas use a separate currency and account for a substantial portion of CP. Completing the ascension quest opens your first Stigma slot free at level 22; subsequent upgrades require Stigma Shards, not Skill Points. Each allocated Shard adds about 100 Combat Power, and filling all Stigmas can contribute more than 20,000 CP—around one-fifth of a developed character’s total. Resetting every Stigma takes a character from roughly 116K down to 92K CP, so put points into the Stigmas your build relies on first. Rage Burst uses one Stigma point and 100 MP; at level 20, a hit grants 10% more PvE damage and 5% more PvP damage.

Daevanion boards and Arcana cards
Daevanion boards are lasting talent grids: opening their nodes grants stats and skill-level bonuses. Their progress remains on your character through gear changes, so useful nodes continue to benefit you; board levels can also let a skill exceed its standard cap and open additional specialty passive slots. Exploration objectives and Regional quests award Daevanion Points, while Regional quests and Sealed Dungeons provide Daevanion Crystals for the boards. Prioritize offensive options such as Critical Hit, Attack, and Multi-Hit Chance.
PvP Daevanion nodes increase your total CP and may get you past a dungeon requirement, but they provide no PvE damage. For more damage in group content, prioritize PvE nodes.
Treat Arcana cards as additional equipment slots: they provide combat stats and may raise particular active or passive skills beyond their usual cap. They also count toward item level, making them a major difference between characters below 70,000 CP and those above 90,000. Transcendence dungeons are where cards drop. Mysterious Crystal is the primary material for Arcana transmutation, and older cards can be extracted into crystals to make new ones. Fill vacant slots with useful cards now, then replace them with rarer choices later rather than waiting for a perfect pull. Crafted and transmuted using Mysterious Crystals, the Chalice of Vigor provides free skill levels along the way.
Free-to-play Combat Power sources
Most of the materials behind the systems above come from repeatable activities that cost nothing but time. These are where a free-to-play character catches up.
Shugo Festival
Each month, the Shugo Festival shop restocks. Buy all of its Stigma Shards and Daevanion Crystals using Centuryroot Tokens, which come from hourly minigames and festival achievements. Wraith Evasion is a dependable way to win tokens. The shop also offers Springflower Butterfly Wings and Pantheon Artworks, both worth purchasing.

Abyss Trade Shop
Each week, you can exchange Abyss Points in the Abyss Trade Shop for Stigma Shards and Daevanion Crystals. PvP arenas provide those points: Arena of Tactics uses 10v10 teams, Arena of Solitude is 1v1, and Arena of Cooperation runs 3v3.

Abyss Supply Requests
If you would rather avoid PvP, Supply Requests pay out large Abyss Point turn-ins for delivering crafted items. Emergency, Weekly, and Boss request types each take their own deliveries, and slotting items here relies on your Crafting life skill.

Nightmare mode and field bosses
Nightmare runs let you defeat Zikel’s Apparition and spend Phantasmal Fragments in its Trade Shop, which also stocks Stigma Shards and Daevanion Crystals. Nightmare Wings carry Boss Damage Boost 3.5%, Attack 60, Critical Hit 35, and Accuracy 35. Out in the world, field boss trains against targets like Blood Warrior Lannar and Immortal Gartua drop refining stones and level 70 gear; world chat is where raid forces recruit, so join one to track the rotation.
Collection systems: wings, titles, pets, and Pantheon
Each collection bonus may seem minor, but together these systems deliver a lasting account-wide gain. For Wings, Titles, and Pets, ownership and equipping each trigger a separate effect, so an item benefits you even when it is not on display. Titles make it easy to see how small bonuses add up: owning the Common dungeon title “Hey! I’m Walkin’ Here!” grants PvE Accuracy 5, while equipping it gives Critical Attack 12. Collecting 100 skins earns the Rare “Fashionista” title, which provides Critical Hit 5 when owned and Combat Speed 1.9% when equipped.
Genus Insight gives pets another progression layer, spanning the Cogei, Fera, Natura, Varian, and Special genuses. Gathering crystals from Command scrolls, then from Duty board missions and Hidden Cubes, opens additional stat sockets. Wait until a genus reaches level 10 before locking rolled passives; locking them sooner can raise the reroll price to 50 crystals per roll. In the Closet, combining duplicate skins returns Kinah and adds a small, permanent account-wide CP gain.
Because Pantheon is separate from the usual equipment screen, it is easy to overlook weak Statue and Artwork pieces and miss out on CP. Placing statues and artwork grants substantial base stats. Complete Draupnir Conquest on Normal 10 times to unlock the Transcendent Bakarma statue, which provides +12 Freedom, +12 Death, and +12 Space for roughly 1,000 CP. Activating all Kibelisks across Allgard unlocks the Kibelisk statue, granting +10 Freedom and +10 Space.

A higher CP total does not automatically mean a stat is useful. Bonuses on a card, node, or title may raise the score while doing little for a class that cannot use them, so favor stats and skills that improve your damage or help you survive.
How to confirm your Combat Power went up
You can switch the existing item-level display to Combat Power. After an upgrade, check the display to confirm the value went up. To examine damage directly rather than rely on the overall rating, launch Combat Analysis through the ESC menu or press Ctrl+X. The tool shows combat duration, DPS, and total damage, with a detailed view listing results by skill; it can also begin tracking automatically when you attack a boss.
Let both readings point you toward your next upgrade. If a dungeon is locked, your item level is below the threshold, so improve your equipment first. After you qualify to enter, a group asking for more Combat Power signals that you should work on skills, then Stigmas; next come Daevanion and Arcana, followed by Genus Insight and the collection systems. Leave Amplified Enhancement until last: first get your gear to +15 and fill the cheaper systems, since Amplified Enhancement only pays off at the very top of the CP range.
