The Remaining Unobtained Cube Count in AION 2 tracks how many times you finish a Conquest or Transcendence dungeon and then walk away without claiming its Odyle Energy reward cube. It is a weekly allowance, and running out of it stops you from entering more of those dungeons until the server clears it.
Quick answer: You get 10 unobtained cubes per week. Each dungeon you complete and leave without claiming the cube uses one. Hit zero and you are locked out of Expedition and Transcendence dungeons until the reset every Wednesday at 7 AM UTC.

What adds to the Unobtained Cube Count
A run counts toward the total if you enter a dungeon, finish it, and leave without taking the Odyle Energy cube at the end. You can exit at any point after completing the dungeon; the attempt is recorded because you passed up the reward. Winning the fight alone does not increase the count—the game tracks the cube you leave behind, not the dungeon clear.
The same allowance applies to all characters on your server. Switching between your main and an alt won’t grant extra attempts, so manage your unclaimed runs across the account, not separately for each character.
There is no item, purchase, or setting that lets you lower the number back down early. Once an attempt is spent, it stays spent until the weekly reset.

After your tenth unobtained attempt, the game locks you out of all Expedition and Transcendence dungeons for the rest of the week. The lock applies to the content tied to the cube system, so the dungeons you would normally farm for gear become unavailable until the timer rolls over.
You can watch where you stand through the Remaining Unobtained Cube Count tooltip on the Expedition screen, which shows how many attempts you have left before the lockout triggers.
If you are deliberately running dungeons without spending Odyle Energy, keep an eye on the remaining count. You can leave cubes unclaimed, but each one chips away at a hard weekly cap that nothing else restores.

When the count resets
Your Unobtained Cube Count is restored weekly on Wednesday at 7 AM UTC. The allowance goes back to 10 then, and the lockout is removed. The timer cannot be accelerated; if your account is locked out, you must wait for the weekly reset.

Why it is not the same as dungeon pity
It is easy to mix the Unobtained Cube Count up with the guaranteed-reward track, since both involve cubes. They are separate systems. Dungeon pity measures the reward cubes you actually claim, pushing you toward a guaranteed gear selection after a set number of claims. The Unobtained Cube Count does the opposite, counting the cubes you do not claim.
Because of that, you can build pity progress and burn through your weekly unclaimed allowance at the same time, each moving on its own meter. When you run dungeons while holding onto Odyle Energy, keep four things in view separately: your energy, your reward cube claims, your pity progress, and the Remaining Unobtained Cube Count. Treating the last one as free runs is the mistake that ends a farming week early.
