The Contaminated Spirit is a level 15 Normal-rank creature in the open world of AION 2, and it does not attack on sight, so you can pick your fights at your own pace. On the Elyos side, all 40 of its marked spots in Verteron sit in the Contaminated Marsh, which makes that one area the only place you need to go to find it in numbers.

The nearest teleport statue is Kraka Footpath Wastewater Downstream, about 190 m from the marsh. Every kill gives a guaranteed Soul: Black Spirit (Bound), with a 3.9% chance at a Spiritstone and 0.65% at a Refining Stone. Forgotten armour pieces drop at between 0.16% and 0.32%, while Rainy Forest Gloves and Rainy Forest Boots are Rare drops at 0.12% each. Two quests send you here: the Air Freshener duty asks for 20 kills and pays Abyss Points x1,000 and Kina (Bound) x50,000, and the repeatable duty Festival Preparations: Contaminated Marsh asks for 10.
