The Contaminated Swarm is a level 11 Normal-rank creature in the open world of AION 2, and it attacks on sight, so expect it to come at you as soon as you get close. It lives on the Asmodian side, in Altgard, where all 8 of its marked spots sit in Calderon Canyon. With every spawn packed into that one area, the canyon is the only place you need to go, and you can work through the whole group without moving between zones.

The nearest teleport statue is Mire Campsite, about 80 m from the spawns, so the walk is short. Every kill gives you Soul: Swarm (Bound), which is guaranteed. Raw Leather drops at 3.9% and Refining Stone at 0.65%. The Shade armour set is in the drop pool too, though at low rates: Shade Gloves, Shade Boots and Shade Cloak each drop at 0.32%, Shade Helm and Shade Pauldrons at 0.25%, Shade Greaves at 0.21% and Shade Breastplate at 0.16%. Shade Greatsword and Shade Longsword are rarer still, at 0.08% each.
