The Drakan Guard is a Normal-rank creature of level 32–45 that attacks on sight, and it turns up on both sides of the map. In Verteron, on the Elyos side, all 23 of its marked spots are inside Nahid Brigade Fortress. In Altgard, on the Asmodian side, Dranactus holds all 49, giving Asmodian players more than twice as many guards in one area.

Elyos players should teleport to the Nahid Disposal Plant statue and walk about 160 m to the fortress. Asmodians can use the Hidden Cave statue, roughly 130 m from Dranactus. Several quests send you here. Weaken the Guard, Defiance I and Defiance II ask for 20, 20 and 25 kills, and each pays Abyss Points x1,000 and Kina (Bound) x50,000. The Rescue Operation episode needs 6 kills for 2,856,707 XP, Kina (Bound) x22,000 and Avenger Greaves x1. The repeatable Festival Preparations duties call for 10 kills at Nahid Brigade Fortress and 15 at Dranactus. Drops are slim: Refining Stone and the Rare Soft Balaur Meat sit at 0.65% each, and Riverside and Phantasm gloves, boots and cloaks at 0.27%.
